A Runner’s Life

#24 - Lee Grantham

24 Jun 2020

Description

This conversation is with elite runner Lee Grantham who was coached at school by the U.K. fell running legend, Andy Trigg the winner of numerous fell events in the Peak District in the '80s and '90s. Lee ran as a junior then left the sport, he got a regular job and was successful, but it wasn’t what he wanted to do long term. We speak about when he cycled through Asia in 2008/2009, to get away from everything, to figure out what made him tick. It then led him directly back to running in early 2010. Lee is a 100km British Championship winner, and Nike sponsored athlete. We dive into his future targets to become the world champion in 100km and goal to breaking the 100k world record. We talk about the time we briefly ran together at the 2019 Berlin marathon! We dive into the lessons that Lee has developed along his journey, including his time with Eliud Kipchoge. I’m biased but it’s a fun conversation which I know you’ll enjoy. You can follow Lee on Instagram @jungle.vip
