摇落暮天迥，青枫霜叶稀。孤城向水闭，独鸟背人飞。渡口月初上，邻家渔未归。乡心正欲绝，何处捣寒衣？本诗是刘长卿寄寓在余干（今属江西）旅舍时，写下的风调凄清的思乡之作。刘长卿喜欢用“摇落”这个词入诗，它使人自然联想起《楚辞·九辩》中的名句“悲哉秋之为气也，萧瑟兮草木摇落而变衰”，而在眼前浮现出一幅西风落叶图。
