Pope Francis has died. The Vatican announced his death on Easter Monday. He appeared at St Peter’s Square to bless thousands of people on Easter Sunday just hours before his death. The head of the Catholic Church had been in increasingly poor health including spending a lengthy time in hospital with pneumonia. The Catholic world is now in mourning for the 88 year old who was elected in March 2013.
