Think You Can Drink After a Period of Sobriety? Here’s Why Your Brain Says No

18 Sep 2024

Description

There’s only one thing you need to know, to understand you still can’t drink in a healthy way, even after a period of sobriety. It doesn’t  matter if you quit for a week, months, or years. I’m going to tell you how you know with 100% certainty that you still can’t drink. Over all the years of my own sobriety, and helping thousands of people navigate their own sober journey’s, one thing has always stood out that makes it clear to me our relationship with alcohol is different. And it will continue to be different for the rest of my life, no matter how long I go without a drink. I want you to understand why it’s such a mess when you quit drinking for awhile then decide you can probably drink again. I get it! I fell into the same trap the first time I ever took a break from alcohol – which is also something ‘normal’ drinkers don’t do, by the way. So what is the one thing? The thing that makes you and me different from those weirdos who sip on one glass of wine for an hour, or leave half a glass sitting on the table and walk away? Your brain will tell you everything you need to know... grab your earbuds and tune in to save yourself some time and drama. Links mentioned in this episode:  Is Angela the right Coach for you?
