Alright everyone, welcome back to another edition of Happy Hour. It is the version of Afterparty we do every Friday here on the podcast feed. And as you know, every week I go through the questions that you send in to Emily at Double May Care Media that I've flagged inboxed throughout the week. uh go through them live to tape. So I'm reading them mostly for the first time. Uh with that being said, let's get into it. I'm just gonna guess because I've seen some questions come in. There will be a lot of uh tucker thoughts and uh that's quite alright. So let's go ahead and start here with Samantha. Who says that I've been thinking about your observation that the women supporting Lindsay Clancy are empathizing with her psychological struggle, and I think there is more to it.
Many people have pointed out that some of her loudest supporters are white, middle to upper class women. I don't think anyone is talking about what these women are really struggling with and her intersectionality. This ideology places cis able economically advantaged white women at the top of the oppression hierarchy. I am included in this demo. What are we are what I like to call apex prey in a pu in a position of obligation to care for and fight for All the wretched of the earth and incapable of complaining about the burden. When there's no juice left to squeeze, we should just be happy that we still have so much advantage over so many. You're exhausted. Take a quick nap, check your privilege and get back into the fight.
It's so much harder for So many women, it's selfish to claim that the challenges of motherhood cannot be completely ameliorated by skin color or money. White women are crying out for unqualified love and compassion, it's not a stretch to imagine that a woman under such unsustainable pressure will eventually self destruct in a subconscious, last desperate attempt to be seen in her pain. Um, when my son was born, Samantha says I lost an extra half liter of blood and didn't sleep for nearly seventy two hours due to acute postpartum anxiety. I finally asked my husband to call his mom for help because I could tell that I was flirting with the edge of sanity. I thought that I might just die, but that would be easier than what I was feeling.
I've never had those thoughts before or after this experience. She came over immediately, she held me in her arms and told me that she would keep my son safe while I slept. Her staying was the first time was first time brand new. Uh or her saying was first time brand new, no judgment, just love, understanding, and compassion. My husband is amazing and supportive and he was trying to be there for me, but I now see that he could never have supported me in that moment. Like another woman who has been through the fire, women need real world female support that allows them to be selfishly deserving of love. Okay, interesting. Let me think about this for a second. Um This is oh and Samantha says, uh love your show.
Often when something big happens, I wanna know what you think about it because I trust that your opinions are thoughtful and genuine. Affluent white women are then kind of Coping with it in ways that feel destructive or feel inappropriate or feel wrong and Honestly, I'm really glad you brought this up, Samantha, just as I'm thinking in real time because One of the reasons that People get So so people get frustrated with me for not being overly confrontational.
