The man goes on Joe Rogan talking about wanting his own private AI trained exclusively on his books and journals, and within hours the entire AI Twitter is basically sliding into his DMs with increasingly unhinged technical solutions. Someone literally suggested he "install LM Studio, download a 7-8B GGUF model, enable GPU offload" - mate, it's Matthew McConaughey, not a software engineer. Though to be fair, you could probably do this with Google's NotebookLM or something like Delphi without needing a computer science degree. Elon's dropped Grok 4 Fast at absolutely ridiculous pricing - we're talking 15 times cheaper than the previous Grok model and significantly undercutting ChatGPT. It's clearly a play to force everyone else's hand on pricing, though whether xAI can actually afford to run at these margins is anyone's guess. The cherry on top is that the model got immediately jailbroken by Pliny the Liberator (yes, that's their actual handle) using just their name as a prompt. Apparently Pliny has poisoned so much training data that typing "!Pliny" instantly removes all guardrails. It's both brilliant and slightly terrifying.
