Nicole and Renata Nehme discuss with them the M.I.N.D. Adult Palatal Expansion Procedure that Dr. Zaghi underwent. M.I.N.D. (Minimally Invasive NasoMaxillary Distraction) is a technique used to correct maxillary transverse deficiency. Compared to traditional surgical techniques, which involve larger incisions, extensive bone cutting, and a longer recovery period, M.I.N.D. is minimally invasive, with minimal discomfort, swelling, or bleeding. Dr. Coppelson brings the knowledge and experience necessary to stay on the cutting edge of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Coppelson's highly specialized training provides him with expertise on procedures ranging from corrective jaw surgery, minimally invasive jaw expansion, dental implants, and management of wisdom teeth.Dr. Soroush Zaghi, MD, ENT Sleep Surgeon, Otolaryngology & Maxillofacial Surgery.ย Dr. Zaghi recently underwent an adult palatal expansion procedure, which is reviewed in this interview.ย Dr. Zaghi graduated from Harvard Medical School, completed residency in ENT (Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery) at UCLA, and Sleep Surgery Fellowship at Stanford University. The focus of his sub-specialty training is on the comprehensive treatment of tongue-tie, nasal obstruction, mouth breathing, snoring, and obstructive sleep apnea. He is very active in clinical research relating to sleep disordered breathing with over 80+ peer-reviewed research publications in the fields of neuroscience, head and neck surgery, and sleep-disordered breathing. Dr. Zaghi is particularly interested in studying the impact of tethered-oral tissues (such as tongue-tie) and oral myofascial dysfunction on maxillofacial development, upper airway resistance syndrome, and obstructive sleep apnea.
