Transcript: as some people would say, on the back burner.Well, hey there.Welcome back. The concept of non-local consciousness is really fascinating. When you talk to someone on the phone, you’re not really talking to someone on the phone. You’re not talking to them.See, I I could go through and I’d probably be thrilled because I’m odd like that through each and every layer of what’s actually happening when you use your voice to then vibrate the membrane of the microphone which then translates that into electrical signals and blah blah blah blah. But all that stuff that’s happening to then produce the same effect in the other person’s phone and they’re not talking to you either. And you can say, “Well, well, no, Mark.I mean, I can hear I can hear them in the background. It’s going on live.Well, but you’re not talking to them when you’re not there talking to them. And you could say, well, all long distance communication, all communication that’s not in person works that way, right?I mean, you could be texting someone, you can be, you know, you can be FaceTiming someone, you can be doing all those things and you’re not really talking to them. You’re talking to them, but you’re not talking to them, right?you’re talking kind of to the the the projection of them. The two of you are talking to a projection of each other. What if that’s also what’s happening when you’re talking to someone in person?See, that’s the concept of non-local consciousness.Oh boy, here we go.Right.Okay.So, let’s put that on hold for a second.Have you ever had an issue or problem or something you wanted to solve and you thought, well, I’m just going to sleep on it.Or you thought, okay, I I got to stop thinking about this, but I’m still thinking about this. So, that’s a concept that I think about and utilize a lot.A lot of people who may not be in the creative space, and you know, we’ve had that argument before where I say pretty much everything’s in the creative space, but people who think they’re not in the creative space and do a job that seems very direct and linear, they may think they sit down and they focus on ideas and concepts and problem solving and then they solve the problem. And sometimes it’s not that moment, but sometimes it takes days or whatever to work on the finished product. But when they’re not thinking about it, they’re not thinking about it.At least that’s what they think. There have been a number of projects, rather large ones or small problems that seem unsolvable that I have put, as some people would say, on the back burner.I say, “Okay, I’m going to shift this to the back of my head for lack of a better feeling. It feels like I moved it to the back of my head.” And then I go on with my life, but I can kind of feel that it’s still there.Have you ever rightclicked and copied something with your mouse and then your hand and your mouse feel kind of heavier or sluggish until you paste it?No.Am I the only one? It’s that same kind of concept where you have something going on on the back burner. And for me, I’ve told people I think in the past a few times that my brain is fizzing. And it that sounds really odd, but it feels like it’s working on something and you just leave it alone.Let it work because you’re going to just mess it up and get your hands in there. So you say, “Look, I’ve defined the problem.I put it in the back of my brain and it’s going to work on it.” Obviously, if you’re trapped somewhere and you need to get out, you don’t you don’t use that method. But when you’re working on larger conceptual things where you think, “Okay, there’s going to be an answer.there’s got to be a way to do this and oh, I need to think outside of the, you know, the box.Well, this is the kind of thinking that actually is really helpful and it’s it’s allowed me to do some pretty large things, I would think, conceptually and intellectually. And no, that I didn’t mean it to sound that way, but you know what I mean.I tell you all this because I think it’s an interesting thing to consider, especially if you feel that you’ve done it.if you’ve done the mental equivalent of a a cut and paste and you’re in the cut part or the copy part. But I also tell it to you because that’s sort of how consciousness has been on my mind. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a long time and it’s something that I don’t talk about and it’s something that is sort of on the back burner for me.And when I kind of came across the concept of non-local consciousness, I went, “Wait a second, this is kind of in line with what I’ve been thinking.I’ve been trying to define who I am.And when I say that, I mean that it could be who you are, who anyone is basically as a a a conscious sensient person. And this is deep stuff and it can be for people. You know, there are memes out there that says that, you know, the brain is the only organ that named itself. And and I disagree with that.I don’t think that’s what happened. There are countless science fiction shows and stories in which people transfer the consciousness of one person to another. They just basically copy the contents of the brain to another person. But for those of us who may believe there’s more to us than just data, it’s missing something. There are those that are even fans of Star Trek and their transporter that feel that the transporter just can’t do what it says it does when it beams somebody to a planet because there’s more to a person than what a machine like that could transmit. And creepily, there are people that say that it’s sort of a a suicide machine because for it to work properly, it has to destroy you and then recreate you somewhere else.So every time you use it, you’re dying. That’s another thing to think about. We can compare our brain to a computer and say that okay, you know, it’s there’s a computational device there, but there’s also long and short-term memory just like in a computer. There’s short-term memory of the actual memory and the RAM and there’s long-term memory as far as the hard drive is concerned and so forth.A lot of what we use computers for these days, however, aren’t on the computer. Most of what people do is in their browser.I mean, there there’s things people specifically may do.They may have a locally installed spreadsheet or or document creation software or 3D modeling software locally installed, but in a lot of those cases, it doesn’t even live on the computer.People who use Microsoft 365, people who use the Google Suite, they’re all using tools that don’t live on the computer, that live somewhere else.If you’re using Gmail, you’re not using mail that’s living on your computer. And email in and of itself is a thing that typically doesn’t live where you live. It’s a window into where it actually lives up there in the cloud. So even when people make the really non-equivalent connection or comparison between a person’s brain consciousness to a computer, they’re then leaking right back into where they belong, which is that not everything is there. So if the brain is the hardware and you and I are kind of the data and the program that make up our experiences and our personality, what about the stuff that doesn’t live here? What about the inspiration and creativity that seem to come out of nowhere? And I had a very personal direct experience with that when I wrote the sword and the sunflower. And I won’t bore you with that story for the 15th time.If you’re a person who has a belief system, then you are already in a mode in which you believe there is more to life than what we are seeing. If science has taught me one lesson and I had to pick one lesson, it’s that we know very little. We know very little. And the more that we learn, the more we realize we don’t know. And that’s something that’s usually attributed to Einstein. But then everything seems to be attributed to Einstein. So you may have to look that one up.So my question to you today is where do you live?Is it here or is there a non-local consciousness that we’re dealing with?Because when you talk to your friend on the phone or you’re one of the thousands of users of chat GPT, you’re not there with your friend and you’re not talking to Chat GPT that lives in your phone. You’re both talking to something that lives somewhere else. And what if that’s all we’re ever doing?because we all are non-local in our consciousness.Thank you.Have a lovely day.And by the way, happy Mother’s Day to everyone living in the United States, Brazil, Germany, India, China, and Japan. Those are all the countries that celebrate it on the second Sunday of May.There are many other countries that celebrate it, but it’s on a different date. And if you’re in Russia, I think you have to wait all the way until November. So take care of yourself wherever you are.Not okay. All I want and I pray all I need are some better days.I want to announce that my new book, my 10th, is out. It’s called because the fundamental psychological building blocks that enable you to or prevent you from accomplishing anything, everything, and nothing.Check it out on Amazon. It’s only $9.99.
