Cardio-Oncology Rehabilitation and Exercise: evidence, priorities, and research standards from the ICOS-CORE working group

The IC-OS Exercise Working Group published a landmark article in the European Heart Journal. "The aim of this whitepaper is to review the current state of the literature on the effects of cardio-oncology rehabilitation and exercise (CORE). There is an urgent need to reinforce and extend the evidence informing the cardiovascular care of cancer survivors." You can read the article here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40036781/Dr. Erin Howden is the head of the Cardiometabolic Health and Exercise Physiology lab, co-lead of the Physical Activity Program, at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, She is an honorary senior research fellow in the Department of Cardiometabolic Medicine at the University of Melbourne, Australia and chair of the IC-OS Exercise Working Group. Dr. Fernando Rivera-Theurel is a Cardiologist with specific training in Cardiovascular Prevention & Rehabilitation and Cardio-Oncology at the University of Toronto. He leads the Cardio-Oncology Rehabilitation Program at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. He is the Co-Chair of the Exercise and Rehabilitation IC-OS working group and the Education Co-Lead of the Canadian Cardio-Oncology Network (CCON). His research is focused on the use of technology in cardiac rehab, cardio-oncology rehabilitation and cardiac rehabilitation in cardiac amyloidosis.
