On today’s episode I sat down with San Francisco Giants Assistant coach Alyssa Nakken! Alyssa is the first full-time female coach and was the first female to coach on field in April of 2022. Not only is Alyssa breaking barriers and doing amazing things in the sport, but more importantly she’s one of the most humble, grounded, and downright amazing human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. In this episode we talk about: Her journey from D1 softball to coach in the MLB How she navigates being the media and being only female on an all male coaching staff How getting out and moving in nature is one of her non-negotiables for staying grounded Advice for coaches and parents on how to help players get out of slumps The importance of giving kids autonomy in their sports journey How confidence has played a role in her ability to coach and pave the way for girls Advice for young girls who want to break barriers and follow their own path Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/amIIZhD_R-E
