In this episode, I speak with Rob Mitchell, Project Sales Director at SSE. He works within the Smart Buildings division of the company who focus on decarbonising buildings. According to a report from the European Commission, an estimated 75% of Europe's current building stock is considered energy inefficient. We need to act now. We discuss energy saving, how we procure technology within commercial buildings, interoperability, the traditional construction process, the trade-off between net zero carbon and occupant comfort and whether he believes there are any buildings that are currently achieving operational excellence today.
