ANDRITZ SPECTRUM Podcast

#24 Improved efficiency means a lower carbon footprint. How can this be achieved in the white liquor plant?

19 Mar 2024

Description

Improved efficiency leads to less overall energy use which in turn means the lowering of carbon footprint. In the search for improvements in white liquor plant operations ANDRITZ has developed a uniquely simplified and ultimately more efficient technology, LimeDry-H, for improved lime mud feeding. The LimeDry-H system has seen a number of improvements including the implementing of a hollow central shaft (which means no vacuum tank is required), central shaft axial movement, a better precoat renewal system and improved maintainability. The new system also has the option for the latest in ANDRITZ autonomous white liquor plant solutions. The improvements to the new system have resulted in a more homogeneous lime mud feed to the lime kiln. This means more efficient drying resulting in the decreasing of emissions across the whole process. Additionally there are water savings of up to 60%. In this podcast we talk to ANDRITZ white liquor plant experts, Ville Seppänen, Sales Manager, Kalle Rekola, Product Manager, and Airi Antikainen, Product Owner, SMART Products about the advantages and benefits LimeDry-H brings to operations.
