SGLT2 remmers zorgen voor een verminderde ziekenhuisopname door hartfalen en worden aanbevolen voor alle patiënten met hartfalen NYHA klasse 2. Momenteel worden er veel SGLT2 remmers voorgeschreven, maar hoe werken ze nu precies bij hartfalen? In deze podcast worden eerste de belangrijkste studies kort besproken, waarbij SGLT2 remmers getest zijn en vervolgens wordt ingegaan op de mogelijke werkingsmechanismen van deze middelen bij hartfalen. Voor een verdieping in de werkingsmechanismen verwijs ik naar de literatuur hieronder. SGLT2 remmers zijn nu geregistreerd voor HFrEF, op dit moment is er een studie bij HFpEF gepubliceerd voor empagliflozine (EMPEROR preserved) en begin 2022 worden ook de resultaten van een andere studie met dapagliflozine (DELIVER).Literatuur1.
