What happened in the England vs Norway World Cup match and why was it controversial?

Andrew Mangan 0:13
Hello and welcome to another ArsCast Extra as always with James from Gunnerblog. Good morning to you from good afternoon here. Morning, Andrew. Uh yes, from the from from my awning to your afternoon. How's it going? It's going okay. It's going okay. Uh sun is shining, still very warm, so enjoying this uh little bit of summer that we're getting here in Ireland, so it's all very pleasant. And uh yeah, I'm I'm hunky Dory. How's it going, your end? Not too bad. Little bit hungover, I must say. Celebrating something, what could that be? I watched the England game at a fan park yesterday. Okay. There was an incident with a margarita basically. So I was served this margarita and it had a fly in it. Um And I was like, Excuse me, there's a fly in my margarita.
Andrew Mangan 1:05
Um and I I thought they'd make the drink again. But what they did as a sort of uh recompense is they poured half of it away and just filled it up with tequila. Um and they were like, That should disinfect The drink. Right. Uh and I was like, thank you, I guess. And then basically drank a a sort of a basically about a pint of tequila, essentially. Um and yeah, I do feel slightly worse for wear today. But I did enjoy. The match. So Okay. You know, swings and roundabouts. I guess so. I guess so. I was waiting for something a little more traditional, you know, the waiter there's a fly in my soup kinda gag here, but uh No, no, no. This is how they do things in America, I gather. It's an unconventional way of dealing with a problem.
Andrew Mangan 1:57
I mean they probably say, What's the logic like? The fly is on the top of the drink, right? And whatever fly business he might do or not do probably doesn't have the requisite jet power to get I guess halfway down the drink. That's where they decided. That's what the that's clearly what they're thinking. They're also thinking I'm working this bar under considerable pressure. I can't afford to remake this man his drink. I know I'll pour half of it away and replace it with more valuable liquid. I mean even though I would say I don't think that made it taste particularly nice. No, there's a balance required for for cocktails, isn't there? You know, if you give somebody well here's a margarita and you give 'em a pint of tequila and just sort of a squeeze of lime, that ain't gonna work.
Andrew Mangan 2:50
If I'd wanted that, Andrew, uh in many ways I would have ordered it. But I didn't. But nonetheless. So anyway, so I felt quite relaxed during the game. Uh but then Over the course of the and because the game was quite early, it was sort of like uh lunchtime. No, it was like four PM. Not here it wasn't. But anyway, four PM.

Mm-hmm.

And then but then the problem was I stopped drinking after the match, um, after a couple more sort of regular margaritas. But then that by the time I went to bed My body was re uh very much rejecting the poison I'd put into it. Unless it was a trace of the fly. Well that's what I'm thinking. Maybe it's the fly that's got to me. I that's what I'm thinking though. You g you w uh what's the Brundle fly thing from that film about the fly, I can't remember the name of it. What's it called? Oh yeah, the fly. I think it's called a fly. The bus that wouldn't slow down. Um yeah, maybe that's what it is. You've got f fly DNA now. Can you see in all kinds of different directions? I yes, I d I'm sorry to hovering above the ground as we speak.
Andrew Mangan 4:00
But I daren't go back and tell them this because they'll hold me down and inject tequila directly into my veins. Yeah, to Yeah, to cleanse you properly. They only have cleansed you. Well that's uh that's an experience, certainly. Uh what was it like in the in the fan park? Like what was the the mix of fans? Because like here last I was out in in uh in town last night having a bit of dinner uh before coming home to to watch the game. There were so many Norwegians in Dublin last night. It was crazy. It was crazy. They were yeah, they were they were everywhere. Um, all in very good spirits, I have to say. So was it like a a mix of English and Norwegians and neutrals? Kind of. And it wasn't immediately apparent who was who because the national colours have a lot of crossover.
