#15 Ashton Eaton [EN] - "I don't identify as just an athlete"

My guest today is Ashton Eaton, two-time Olympic champion and two-time world champion in the decathlon.  Ashton is the former world record holder in the decathlon, first with 9039 points in 2012 (when he broke Roman Šebrle’s world record of 9026 points), and then with 9045 points in 2015. Ashton and I recorded this episode on January 5, 2023, 6 years after he and his wife Brianne Theisen-Eaton, who’s also an Olympic medalist in the multis but for Canada, announced their retirement from track & field.  In this episode, Ashton tells us about what he does now, but of course also about his greatest wins and about what he learned from an important loss.  You’re listening to the original interview in English.
