Attention Talk Radio

ADHD: Digital Addiction 101 – Part 1

09 Mar 2022

Description

ADHD and addictive behaviors are highly correlated. To understand the correlation, we are doing a three-part series on ADHD and digital addiction. In this Part 1, ADHD coach Jeff Copper (www.digcoaching.com) talks with Dr. Clifford Sussman (www.cliffordsussmanmd.com) about dopamine and brain biology. They discuss dopamine and how it is primarily involved in the pleasure areas of the brain, which exaggerates the addiction phenomenon in ADHD. Dr. Sussman explains how the human brain is instantly stimulated by the digital world because the brain loves dopamine. In Part 2 (http://tobtr.com/12071316) of the series, they talk about how games and social media are engineered to be addictive.  In Part 3 (http://tobtr.com/12071320), they discuss treatment. If you have ADHD and addictive behavior, we encourage you to tune in to this show.Attention Talk Radio is the leading site for self-help Internet radio shows focusing on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD), including managing symptoms of attention deficit disorder, adults with ADD, or adults who have children with ADHD.
