Australians Teach English

EP 18 The Wildflower Capital of the World

10 Nov 2020

Description

Take a trip from the Netherlands to the Wildflower Capital of the World with leading Western Australian botanist, Hans Lambers. After discovering the biodiversity in Western Australia, and the love of his life, he decided to move to Perth. This is his story about his journey with learning Australian English. At the same time, you can learn some key vocabulary and expressions: sunnies, Bob's your uncle, she'll be apples, she's a bit of alright. Also practice comparing cities and places. We talk about the rivalry between Western Australians (sandgropers) and "Eastern Staters"; how biodiversity hotspots are so important, and what each of us can do about it. So put on your sunnies, don't worry about the pesky flies or heat, and come on a wildflower tour with us!
