Historical fiction author and editor Susan Furber published her debut novel Essense of an Hour in 2021 and its sequel, We Were Very Merry, in May 2023. While discussing historical fiction, we chatted about the importance of setting, how to research a historical piece, and her experience publishing her book. She was able to give a unique perspective on the writing and publishing process due to her experience as an editor, as well as her work with others as a self-publishing expert, and having traditionally published her own books.
