What is the main focus of this episode about bucket‑list trips?
Most people don't realize how much of their personal information is being bought and sold every day. Data brokers are making billions pulling details about you from public records and the internet, then packaging and selling it, usually without your consent. That's how your information lands in the hands of scammers, spammers, even stalkers. That's where Aura comes in. Aura actively removes your data from broker sites and keeps it off. They also instantly alert you if your information shows up in a breach or on the dark web. But Aura goes beyond data protection. With one app, you get a VPN, antivirus, password manager, spam call protection, dark web monitoring, and even up to $5 million in identity theft insurance.
All backed by 24-7 US-based fraud support. Other companies might just sell credit monitoring or just a VPN. Aura gives you all of that together at the same price competitors charge for just one service. Start your free trial today at aura.com slash prevent. Protect yourself now at aura.com slash prevent.
Every team, every topic, everywhere. This is Believe.
In this Throwback Thursday episode, Rob Peltland and I will tell you why your bucket list trips will fail and how to overcome these potential issues. Have a good weekend. God bless.
Welcome to the Backpacking and Blisters podcast. With me today is a guest host, Rob Pelton, a man with an expansive bucket list. Mine is just a little pale in comparison.
It's not the size of the bucket that counts. That's how you use it.
You're ready to go with your response. You didn't get my pun, did you? You didn't even catch that I said a little pale in comparison. Pale. Why? Because I'm tan in the middle of the winter? Or you're ignoring it, one of the two. So this is kind of, okay, so we've got this episode out day after Christmas. This is kind of like a Christmas miracle, kind of, because I was supposed to record with Derek this week. He canceled within the hour of us recording, and I was supposed to reach out to one person, one man. Mr. Rob Pelton. And within, I don't know, like 30 minutes, you're like, sure, we can record tonight.
Yeah. You know, with me being so busy and as popular as I am, you know, I carved out this time just for you. Because when Carl calls, you know, asking for an upgrade in a host. Upgrade. Come running. So. Oh, my gosh.
Well, I appreciate you, man. It's not really a miracle. I don't want to throw that word around like willy nilly, but it's pretty awesome because I wasn't sure we're going to get an episode out this week. And we are. And it's extra special because, yeah, like people are fans when you're when you're guest hosting. I don't know if you're quite up to Derek's level yet in terms of popularity. But if not, you're close, man.
You're getting there. He's got longevity on me. He's been on the podcast like one or two more times than I have. So that stands to reason.
One or two.
You know? Yeah. Well, you're working your way. You're cutting into the deficit there, right? Well, I like it. I like the feedback that I've gotten on this podcast. You got a really good, you know, following, uh, really good engagement. And, uh, I mean, and you kind of get into nitty gritty, uh, on some things and that's what I really enjoy. You're not afraid to kind of dig a little bit. So I appreciate that. It doesn't always have to be the formal, polite, nice guy thing, because quite frankly, that's a little boring.
So, uh, And speaking of that, yeah, last time you were on, you shared a story about how you left your car at the trailhead. You had your car, you know, whatever, locked up, doors closed, windows up, and you said that some mice had gotten in the car.
Some or one. Yes. Okay.
Well, either way, I kind of like in a roundabout way sort of called you a liar. I was like, are you sure you didn't leave the windows down? Like, I didn't leave the windows down. We got a ton of feedback, like a lot of feedback after I called you.
How do Rob Pelton and the host introduce the first reason bucket‑list trips fail?
It's a thing. It is a thing. Yeah, a lot of people had that issue. And I've been at a lot of trailheads, and I have not had that issue.
