Welcome into our episode. I hope you're having a wonderful, wonderful day today. And if you're not already having a fabulous day, hopefully, maybe by the time you're done listening today, your day will be so much better. I hope so. I hope so. It's hard sometimes to have a good day because we have so much going on, but it makes a difference. But the reason why I'm hoping you'll have a better day after you listen is because today we're gonna be talking about doing less, doing less. And yes, I know this is rare because most productivity experts are always talking about how to do more, how to squeeze in more. It's always about being more productive, right? Like that's the ultimate goal to get things done.
Rina Meushaw 1:23
But today we're going to do the opposite and we are going to talk about less. We're going to talk about creating a bare bones routine for maybe a day that's not going so well. You know, maybe you're not feeling well. Maybe you're tired. Maybe your mental health isn't where it should be. I shouldn't say should be, but maybe where you want it to be. I'm gonna tell you, I had a day like that on Monday. I was just in a really bad mood, and because of that, I didn't sleep well on Sunday night, and I was having an off day. And that happens, that happens. And you could be having a week where you're just very busy, maybe too much is going on, maybe the kids have evening events, or maybe your work is very busy,

but you know what i'm talking about just sometimes we can't be going at full speed we need to just back it up a bit so today i want to talk about what does a bare minimum routine look like because we still have to function most days even if it's just a teeny tiny little bit because I don't want your whole day to fall apart. I don't want your whole house to fall apart, your work, your kids, everything. So we need a little something. But I also want you to honor how you're feeling and honor your schedule because I don't want you to have that energy of forcing yourself to do maybe everything you usually do. Because when we honor our energy or our lack of energy, really, good things happen. Good things happen. And I know this is so counter what so many of the productivity books say, but you know, a lot of them are written by men, can I just say. But when we honor ourself and we just do less and we go with our energy,

It is so much healthier. It is so much healthier because if we ignore it and, you know, we have a rough week and we have too much going on and we're stressed and we're tired and we press on and we do too much, what happens is that invites burnout and exhaustion and also momster to come out. We don't want that to happen. I don't think I've used the phrase momster in a long time. So it's actually a joke that I made up back in my first few episodes, and I made it up to describe what happens when mom gets mad. When she gets mad and she just can't seem to stop yelling, she turns into a momster, don't you agree? So anyway, we don't want momsters coming out We want you to feel good. We want you to feel good. So having a bare bones routine is really, really important for those days or maybe a whole week that you really need it.

And I already shared that for me, yesterday, which was Monday, was a bare minimum routine day for me. Because Monday morning, I woke up so exhausted, so exhausted. Like I said, I wasn't in a good mood on Sunday. My mental health wasn't where it needed to be. I was just not where I usually am. I don't know what happened. It just happens, right? There's no explanation. Sometimes it just happens. I think also when our weekend is too busy, sometimes it's just too much, too much for our nervous systems to handle. And
