Today’s epsiode is a rewind of my converstion with Darline Llamas Llopis, the Vice President of Finance and Retail of the Miami Dolphins football team and the Florida Formula 1 Grand Prix. Prior to joining the Dolphins, she was the Director of Finance and Controller of the Los Angeles Rams football team. She has an MBA from UCLA and Masters of Accountancy from the University of Southern California (USC). She is a native of Los Angeles, and she and her husband, Devin, now reside in Miami. Darline is a first generation American whose parents immigrated to the United States from Mexico. From a young age she was encouraged by her parents to become financially independent and to seek opportunities through hard work and self-reliance. After beginning her working life in accounting, through a series of coincidences, and propelled by her strong work ethic, she found her career path in the world of sports. Darline talks openly about the influences of her childhood and how they have translated into her sense of financial responsibility in adulthood, and gives advice that is so relevant for young women today.
