Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Yeah, there should be some passion. This doesn't have to be boring.
You don't get bored by baseball. Okay, one thing the game needs is more people like you. You. You. You. You. You.
You.
You. You. You.
You. You. You. You. You. You. You.
You. Reporting live from Scottsdale, Arizona at San Francisco Giants spring training camp. I got a chance to interview some of the players and new manager Tony Vitello today. The vibe at the camp is, you know, they think anything can happen.
They really believe that they have a shot at competing in the NL West, which obviously is a very, very competitive division with the Dodgers leading the way, certainly. But The vibe is good. The energy is positive. They're a mix of a young team plus a lot of veteran presence and certainly with first-year manager Tony Vitello as well. Got a chance to talk to him.
He had some good things to say about Bryce Harper and Garrett Cochet. Talked to Harrison Bader. He was really thoughtful on where he sees this team headed, where he sees himself headed. And, of course, we'll round it all out by talking to old friend Adrian Hauser, who officially... has a Puke and Rally t-shirt that was born on Baseball Isn't Boring in our interview last year.
Vibe is good, energy is good, and of course the weather in Scottsdale is tremendous. But enjoy the interviews. Thank you. Tony, I appreciate your time. How are you?

Chapter 2: What insights does Tony Vitello share about his first year as Giants manager?
And when you work backwards from that, I think small details kind of play a part in that. You know, one game here, one game a month. After six months, they kind of rear its head and you end up kind of playing 500 baseball. So I think the small details are the main focus.
And with that comes a lot of repetition, comes a lot of, you know, more attention to detail, which I've certainly felt every single day in camp. So, yeah.
Listen, again, the theme here never really ends and it's an everyday thing, but I think going into it with understanding how important the small details are, I think allows this camp to be super focused, kind of centered around the level of determination it might take to have those games where maybe it was one loss or one pitch in the wrong direction kind of go our way.
So everything's been great.
What has Tony Vantella, who's obviously a new manager, new to Major League Baseball, what has he kind of implemented in camp so far?
Yeah, I think he's been doing a really good job of blending where he came from, coaching at a high level in the SEC, to kind of understanding where he is now surrounded by major league players. I still reference as a player a lot of things that I learned in college playing in the SEC from my coaches, specifically Coach Brad, who I talk about all the time.
But it's okay to reference things we learned that kind of molded our game, especially at a younger age. It's always really important to remember those things and then use them as kind of whatever you need to kind of keep moving forward. So he's been doing a great job of kind of blending what made him super successful at Tennessee with this new opportunity at the major league level.
We're surrounded by major league players, so there's a certain energy maybe about, you know, the level of work or whatever it might be. But I think it's important. He's done a really good job of remembering, you know, why he was so successful. And, you know, besides that, just the energy is there. The passion is there. the desire, the want to win, the willingness to do whatever it takes.
Those are all awesome things as a player, you know, under his management that I certainly love and I can get behind and whatever happens in the game, but I can certainly, you know, dive into that energy with him because I'm cut from the same cloth. So listen, he's been great. I'm excited for him. And yeah, listen, we take it day by day here, but the season's gonna be a lot of fun for us.
