If you watch the second channel, you already know it's that time of year again. I guess a lot of you knew this was coming after seeing the tablets on the shelves behind me for the last few days. Just a real quick recap. And then we'll get into what you can do to give yourself warm and fuzzy feelings and help people out. For the last seven years, we've done an annual fundraiser at this time of year, and put together gift packages with tablets and other goodies for teens who are in domestic violence shelters over the holidays. This year, we bought everything ahead of the fundraiser to kinda take the pressure off everybody. Given the state of the economy. But we started collecting during a video on the second channel on Thursday morning. And by Thursday afternoon we had exceeded the costs. So What can you do? Down below there will be a couple of links. One is to donate cash directly to a shelter. The other is their wish list, where you can order things the shelter has identified as things they need.

The questions were definitely curiosity and not accusatory, which I thought was cool. One was about nail polish. Now, there may be entirely different reasons than the ones I'm going to give. But when people find themselves in shelters like this, they're often restarting their entire lives. They may need to change jobs, or they may need to find work for the first time in a while. They often had their finances controlled and are really starting from scratch.
