Chapter 1: What is the main accusation the US is making against Russia?
Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Belle again. So today, we're going to talk about the U.S. accusing Russia of inexplicable escalation. U.S. Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations, Tammy Bruce, said that Russia engaged in a dangerous and inexplicable escalation. It's not inexplicable. Not by any means. It's not even surprising.
Bruce went on to talk about how Russia's escalation was counter to Trump's efforts, saying, quote, at a moment of tremendous potential due only to President Trump's unparalleled commitment to peace around the world. Both sides should be seeking ways to de-escalate. Yet Russia's action risks expanding and intensifying the war. What if? Stick with me here.
Chapter 2: How does the US view Russia's actions as an escalation?
Putin's stated reasons for the war were simply pretexts. that he really wanted the territory, and because of that, no amount of concessions the U.S. pushes on Ukraine will bring peace. Russia will continue to escalate. They will engage in provocations against the U.S. because Trump believes Putin respects him, and Putin finds it funny that he can push Trump around.
So, what was the inexplicable escalation? What was this unexplained and unpredictable event? Putin launched an Ureshnik missile at Ukraine. If the name of that system sounds familiar, think back to January 2nd, when we profiled a Russian intermediate-range nuclear-capable missile system that was being brought up to NATO's border, and how it was a slap in the face to Trump.
The exact words in the video were, There is no clearer sign that Putin thinks Trump is scared, weak, and incapable of leadership than this. The mere possibility of NATO arms being stationed directly along Russia's border at some point in the future was used by Russia as a pretext to invade Ukraine.
Russia is actually putting previously banned missile systems on NATO's border, releasing video of them doing it, and admitting they're doing it. They feel comfortable doing this because Putin sees Trump as too weak to respond. If they see him as too weak to respond, if they see him as somebody totally tricked and therefore compliant to Putin's wishes, why wouldn't they use the system?
Even if they don't use the one by NATO's border, it's absolutely an escalation. But it isn't inexplicable and it isn't surprising. This is occurring because Putin sees the U.S. growing weaker and weaker as Trump divides NATO and places unreasonable demands on Ukraine. At some point, somebody is going to have to explain to Trump that Putin isn't his friend and that he's being strung along.
Putin doesn't want peace with Ukraine. He just wants Ukraine. Any peace will be temporary. Maybe the only way to frame this in a way Trump will care about is that when all of this is recorded in history books, Trump will be seen the same way the appeasers were before World War II. He has to get rid of the idea that Putin is his friend. Putin is the head of an adversarial nation.
That nation has interests and those interests are directly opposed to U.S. interests. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
