Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Belle again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump's feud with Reagan continuing. In what could only happen during Trump's administration, Trump is now in a full-blown feud with Mr. Republican himself, Ronald Reagan.
Chapter 2: What is the main topic of Trump's feud with Reagan?
Trump's team are reportedly already referring to the rich people's playground Trump is building at the White House as the President Donald J. Trump Ballroom. Naming a gaudy eyesore after himself would totally be on brand for Trump. But it's worth noting, he hasn't publicly said he wants to name the room that will likely become an influence peddler's paradise after himself.
All that's happened so far is the destruction of the east wing of the White House to make way for Trump's billionaire ballroom. But in true Trump fashion, it's already over budget. It was originally supposed to cost $250 million.
Chapter 3: How is Trump's White House renovation impacting public perception?
Now it's up to $300 million. This increase is occurring while the government is shut down and Trump is refusing to help working class Americans with health care or food assistance. As the White House falls, the battle between Trump and Reagan rises. Trump was obviously fond of Reagan, especially given how Trump bit Reagan's slogan of let's make America great again.
However, some of those influenced by or closest to Reagan are saying Trump isn't worthy of carrying Reagan's torch. Republican Representative Don Bacon of Nebraska, who began his military career under Reagan's foreign policy, said, quote, We may be the most powerful country in the world. We were the leader of the free world.
But it appears to many leaders and people all over, to include Republicans in Nebraska, that this administration is walking away from that legacy that was built by Eisenhower and many presidents, with Ronald Reagan as its capstone. Peace through strength, building these close alliances, and we are undermining that legacy right now.
Chapter 4: Why do some Republicans feel Trump is undermining Reagan's legacy?
Maybe even worse, Reagan's daughter, Patty, said that her dad, quote, would be heartbroken. Thank you for watching. It would go to other countries that were in trouble, that were being tyrannized or invaded or otherwise suffering from famines. She went on to talk about Reagan's foreign policy ideal and said, quote,
That phrase, peace through strength. I think we have to define what strength is. I don't think bullying is strength. I don't think being overly aggressive is strength.
Chapter 5: What does Reagan's daughter say about Trump's actions?
Strength is forming alliances.
The idea that Trump is destroying American leadership in the world is growing. To the point that even Republican representatives are calling Trump out over it. I'm sure that's nothing for the Republican Party to worry about, though. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
