You are listening to the Becoming the Wealthy You podcast with Jermaine Foley.
If you're a woman who makes good money in your career or business, but you're not building wealth like you want to, then you're in the right place. In this podcast, you'll learn how to stop overspending, break free from the cycle of debt, save lots of cash, and become the wealthy woman you were born to be. Let's dive in. Well, hello there, everyone. Welcome back to the podcast. Oh my gosh, I just literally just returned home from a weekend getaway with my husband to celebrate 22 years of marriage. I cannot believe that I've been married that long. and we had such a good time. So we went to this place called Tyson's Corner, which is right outside of DC in Virginia. I just picked it on a whim because they had a really nice hotel.
I love staying at the Ritz Carlton. And so they had a really nice deal going on and a whole lot of shopping and restaurants nearby. So I was like, hey, the Marriott app is suggesting this place, let's do it. And so we went and we just got back. my flight home was canceled, right? So we flew, we had a connection. And the flight to my actual city was canceled. And thank God we were only like an hour and a half away. So we rented a car and we're home. So I'm saying all that to say, I was thinking about what I wanted to talk to you all about the entire time I was away. And I had an episode ready to go, but it is late. And I was like, okay, what else can I do? What else can I say? And it just popped in my head that last week's episode was such a good one because I've gotten so many messages from you all saying that that hit home, that it was such a good episode because you're dealing with that.
And that episode was all about love. what to do when you're the successful one in your family, and how to start setting some real financial boundaries. And like I said, I got so many messages from you all saying, oh my God, this hit home. And as I stated in that episode, I did an interview with one of my clients, Sheila, and we talked about a lot of this. And I thought it would just be a really great idea to let you hear that interview again. I know some of you are new to the podcast. You may not have heard that episode yet. And I want you to hear it because it really shows the importance of coaching, how things like this, like being the successful one and not having financial boundaries and feeling guilty and obligated to always say yes when someone asks for something or feeling like, oh my gosh, I'm the one making the money, I should pay for everything.
When we don't even know that those thoughts are there, it prevents us from getting ahead financially and it prevents us from building wealth. So I thought for this week's episode, it would be great to bring that conversation back. So like I said, if you missed it the first time, you're going to love it. And even if you heard it before, I think it'll hit differently this time now that we've had last week's talk. so with that let's dive into the interview well hello everyone today i am so excited because i have a guest with me today her name is sheila little she is one of my clients and she is amazing i cannot wait for you all to hear her story and the reason why i invited sheila on is because sometimes
I think hearing other women do amazing things with their money, make significant progress with their money allows you, my listeners, to see that if they can do it, you can too. So I want you to hear her story and know that she is not a special snowflake. She is not a special unicorn. And if Sheila can do the things and make the progress that she's making then you can too all right without further ado Sheila how are you I'm doing good I'm doing good thank you so much for having me on here You are so welcome. So can you start by just sharing a little bit about yourself and what initially brought you to money coaching?
So I've been a therapist for 20 years, but right now I call myself a synergy coach. I just help individuals. Well, I help people really a lot advance and accelerate their life, right?
