36 ~ Navigating Life with a Systemic Auto-Inflammatory Disorder with such positivity with Ebonie Boucher

27 Jan 2024

Description

In this inspiring episode, I speak to Ebonie, who shares her incredible journey with a systemic auto-inflammatory disorder that has drastically altered her life. It all began in July 2018 with her first seizure, leading to hospitalisation and an initial misdiagnosis. Ebonie takes us through the pivotal moment in March 2021 when she noticed a black spot in her right eye. What followed was a whirlwind of medical investigations, a 34-day inpatient stay with a stint in ICU, and the diagnosis of optic neuritis and autoimmune pancreatitis. This marked the realisation that her struggles were part of a systemic autoimmune disease. Since then, Ebonie has undergone a series of tests, surgeries, and treatments, including high-dose steroid infusions. Hospital admissions, PICC placements, and various therapies have become a routine part of her life. Ebonie candidly shares the emotional and physical toll and despite facing numerous challenges, Ebonie maintains an incredibly positive outlook on life. Join us for a compelling conversation about perseverance, strength, and the unseen battles faced by those dealing with systemic auto-inflammatory disorders. Ebonie's resilience becomes a beacon of hope. Discover how her unwavering spirit and optimistic perspective shape her daily life, turning hospital stays into opportunities for growth.
