The Transport Minister says Covid-19 disruptions have affected the Hamilton to Auckland train service. A report for the Waikato Chamber of Commerce found including the subsidy, it costs more than driving. It also found on the assumption of one person per vehicle, the carbon emissions are higher per person taking the train.
