all about autumn and how her family's very real lived experience was in the World War Two Japanese American incarceration camps. So that is part of what inspired this book. And we talked about why this history and some of the modern day responses to it proved just how important it is to talk and learn more about this history, and how she was able to mix fantasy and folklore in elements into this historical fiction. Yeah. Just to see if it's, I mean, I would argue it's a book for everybody and that everyone should read. a little over 300 pages, so you can throw that in the mix real quick and it's a easy, it's a, it's a quick read. So I think everybody can definitely learn some stuff from that book for sure.
for sure. Um, or, you know, as we had talked about before in the interview, just encourage, it encouraged me to go do more research. Um, cause it had been a long time since I had thought about this. Um, so hopefully same for a lot of you guys. Um, as per usual, our, um, episode today will be a spoiler free for the first 15 ish minutes or so, as we get into our faves and fails of the week, um, and then give our spoiler free star and spice ratings with brief reviews, um, about the gods. We'll sing our song.

So, you know, a plot in five sentences or less and all of our favorite tropes, maybe some things that we disliked, etc. And then at the end of the episode, we will actually get into some facts that you should know about what was going on at this time in history, in our history with the Japanese American internment camps, as they are called. But we will be referring to them as incarceration camps. post Pearl Harbor, just so that you guys can maybe put into context this book, but then also, as I said before, encourages you to kind of go out there and do your own research. And also just when I was looking up some of these facts too, I just want to like side note, side tangent, you know, really make sure that you are looking at sources that are credible.
And I know that that is harder and harder to do these days, but I was honestly shocked at how many just random websites were still very um I guess you could say like propagandized or like when I was reading information just to find like basic facts like how many people were incarcerated how many years were these camps open
