07 Jun 2024

Description

Episode Description: Welcome back to Beyond the Workout! I’m your host, Josh Poon, a certified personal trainer, professional actor, and budding entrepreneur. In this show, we’ll talk about bite-sized fitness tips and explore topics on mindset and philosophy, helping you strengthen both your body AND your mind. Today’s fitness tip is all about injury prevention and dialing in with an appropriate warmup. Fitness Tip of the Day: Warming Up Common Mistake: Incorrect or no warm-up Benefits: Effective Warm-Up Dynamic Movements: Leg swings, bear hugs, band pull-aparts Gradual Intensity: Start slowly and build up Cooling Down Benefits: Improves flexibility, reduces soreness, lowers heart rate Method: Static stretching with deep breathing Personal Experience Warm-ups improve my workouts, making me feel stronger and more focused. Skipping them leads to feeling weaker, getting injured, or being wiped out the next day. Clients experience soreness being replaced by readiness after a solid warmup. Brain Food: Mindset and Philosophy Segment Reflect on the balance between effort and rest. How do you balance pushing yourself to achieve with allowing yourself to rest and recover?
