اليوم ٢٨٥:تطهير الهيكل وتدشين المذبح ‏Day 285: Purification and Rededication of the Temple

في قراءة اليوم من أول كتاب المكابيين، نسمع عن انتصار يهوذا المكابي، وتطهير الهيكل وتدشين المذبح . في كتاب سيراخ، نشير إلى أن مطاردة الشهرة والمجد في هذا العالم لا تستحق وقتنا، لأنها ستتلاشى جميعها بعد رحيلنا. القراءات هي: 1 مكابيين 4، سيراخ 10-12، وأمثال 22: 9-12. In today's reading from 1 Maccabees, we hear about the victory of Judas Maccabeus, which is also the story of Hanukkah. In Sirach, we point out that chasing fame and glory in this world are not worth our time, because they will all fade away after we are gone. The readings are 1 Maccabees 4, Sirach 10-12, and Proverbs 22:9-12. I am reading using the Arabic Jesuit Catholic version from Holy Bible App which can be accessed on the app/website. You can also listen to the Bible in a Year podcast in English with Fr Mike Schmitz who did an amazing job. I am using lot of his comments in my reflection as well commentary from different trustworthy resources.
