نتناول المعارك الحالية التي يخوضها يهوذا المكابي وشعب إسرائيل، مؤكدين أنه على الرغم من أن الحرب عنيفة، إلا أن الحرية للانتماء إلى الله وعبادته تستحق المعركة. نناقش أيضًا أهمية قضاء الوقت مع الأشخاص الفاضلين لاكتساب صفاتهم الإيجابية، وضرورة السعي إلى الخير بدلاً من الشر لكي نحقق ثروات السماء. القراءات لليوم هي: 1 مكابيين 5، سيراخ 13-15، وأمثال 22: 13-16. We walk through the current battles of Judas Maccabeus and the Israelite people, emphasizing that while war is violent, freedom to belong to God and worship him is worth fighting for. We also discuss the importance of spending time with virtuous people to acquire their positive qualities and the need to seek good rather than evil to attain the riches of heaven. Today’s readings are from 1 Maccabees 5, Sirach 13-15, and Proverbs 22:13-16. I am reading using the Arabic Jesuit Catholic version from Holy Bible App which can be accessed on the app/website. You can also listen to the Bible in a Year podcast in English with Fr Mike Schmitz who did an amazing job. I am using lot of his comments in my reflection as well commentary from different trustworthy resources.
