I know that uh Ben and uh and Shy and and um and Hazel tweeted out about the the Jays pitching plans for w with Cease and and Soriano and and as Uh Ben said If we go by what John Schneider and the Jays are planning. I it would seem as if it would be difficult for Dylan Sease to pitch the first game of the uh uh of a wild card series. Now again Cross that bridge and we come to the But I I I'm just wondering what what John was saying about about Dylan and and kind of where their um How they're gonna go about managing whatever he's dealing with right now.
Right. So I'll I'll I'll back up for a sec. I talked to Dylan today, and we talked a little bit about the last start and his uh two great defensive plays, too, but just about that wild first inning. And I said to him, Don't tell me anything you don't want to tell me, obviously, but is whatever you're dealing with manageable, stable? And he goes, he said, Yeah, it's just a long season. And which I get. He's had 112 pitches, 118 pitches. He I don't know if you'd call him Kevin a max effort guy, but he's a high effort. Effort guy up there uh uh on the mound. Yeah, you're right. So and he's carried a heavy load for this team. So I think he's okay. But to your point, uh Jeff, yes, John Schneider said the likely scenario is Araghetti in there somewhere Friday, C Saturday, Soriano Sunday.
That means Dylan Sees could not come back until the following Friday. They don't play on the Thursday. It's an off day in the final week. Right. Right. So he'd come back with an extra day on the Friday. And if you go Five days ahead of that, that's Wednesday, which is game two of a playoff series. So as you say, accurately and correctly, they got to get there first. But uh, so that would make it seem like if they make the uh the wildcard series, it would be Cease and two and Soriano and three. And it could be some bullpen game, you Savage in there, you know, a Miles, like they got options, but uh, I think obviously. Obviously, priority number one is giving Dylan Sees the rest that they feel he needs. And it, you know, maybe they can get him to n maybe ninety percent on five days rest is better than eighty percent on four days rest or whatever it is.
And uh it looks like they're, you know, gonna be a little cautious here and and they're pretty experienced at these bullpen games. And if they get to the postseason, maybe they feel they can figure it out in game one.
