This is episode #65 which is picking up with entries #23 and #23, featuring Stanley Clarkeâs 1976 outstanding release titled âSchool Daysâ coming in at #24. Then at #23 I have Lenny White featuring Twennynine, their hugely successful 1979 release titled âBest of Friendsâ. This singular episode will feature various releases from both of these artists who were performing these great songs during their absolute prime, when they were nearly at the very top of their game. Lots of memories from both of these records for me; listening to Stanley Clarke's âSchool Daysâ solo bass rip over and over and over again, as I was in junior high school during the years of 1976 and beyond. Then coming to the year of 1979, in September that year, Iâd begun my senior of high school listening to Lenny Whiteâs âBest of Friendsâ album. Yo, that album had one of the best songs on it that we used to party in the club to that joint, so you know that song will always be with me. So just sit back and go on this journey with me. Itâs not always that I share funky jazz fusion with you like this. Hell many of you out there probably donât even know what this music is - but let me tell you itâs some of the best music ever, ever made! ENJOY!
