Tarun Katial is Founder & CEO, ‘coto’ (come together), a social community platform exclusively for women, built on the promise of consent and continual ownership. Tarun began his career with advertising agencies Saatchi & Saatchi, Enterprise Nexus Lowe, and Ogilvy & Mather. Later, he became the Head of Content and Communications across News Corp’s Star Network India before moving to Sony Entertainment Television as Business Head. He led BIG FM as the Founder COO-CEO before moving on to steering ZEE5, India’s largest and most comprehensive digital entertainment platform for language content, toward gaining a leadership position in the cluttered OTT market in India. Tarun was responsible for several successful Indian television shows which include Indian Idol, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), Bigg Boss, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi, and Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. Under his leadership, ZEE5 hosted over 100 programs in various genres and languages. While working as CEO of Reliance Broadcast Network, he founded the BIG Star Entertainment Awards in 2010 in collaboration with Star India. In 2019, Katial participated in the 24th Paley International Council Summit, and became the first Indian CEO from the OTT industry to speak at the Paley International Council Summit. A Kellogg’s alumnus, the former ZEE5 CEO blends technology and consumer insights in building digital products.
