News When You Want It with Bloomberg News Now. I'm Doug Krisner. New information was made available today regarding the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today Show co-host Savannah Guthrie. The FBI released photos and a video of a possible suspect. Now, the video shows a masked person wearing gloves approaching the front door of Nancy Guthrie's home.

That person was carrying a large backpack and what appears to be a handgun in a holster. White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt says President Trump has been following this case closely.

The president encourages any American across the country with any knowledge of this suspect to please call the FBI. And once again, I will reiterate that the prayers of this entire White House are with Savannah and her family at this time. And we hope this person is found soon and that her mother is brought home safely.

Now, a series of ransom notes have been sent. No person, though, has been identified. We go next to the latest fallout from the DOJ's release of the Epstein files. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has come under fire for his appearance in the files. Lutnick said he did not visit Epstein's private island in 2012 after Epstein was convicted as a sex offender.

Here's an exchange between Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen and Lutnick.

107.778 - 130.258 Howard Lutnick

Did you, in fact, make the visit to Jeffrey Epstein's private island? I did have lunch with him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation. My wife was with me, as were my four children and nannies. I had another couple. They were there as well with their children.

130.238 - 154.308 Doug Krisner

Now, Lutnick is facing calls to resign over his relationship with Epstein since the files show the relationship was more extensive than Lutnick previously revealed. The White House said today that President Trump has no plans to remove Lutnick from his post. The brother of Elon Musk, Kimball, was connected with at least two women through Jeffrey Epstein.

154.728 - 174.261 Doug Krisner

Emails released by the Department of Justice show an easy rapport between Kimball Musk and Epstein as they discussed party plans, relationships, and whether Musk would be able to visit Epstein's island. In a statement, Kimball Musk said his only meeting with Epstein was in his New York office during the day. Senior U.S.

Chapter 2: What details were revealed about the FBI's investigation into Nancy Guthrie's case?

209.53 - 227.397 Unknown

Can you tell us if at least, God, I hope at least one person has been fired for their conduct since these operations have begun. Are you telling us you can't even say one person's been fired? Sir, I'm not going to talk about personnel actions, but we will get back to you. But two people have been killed so far. Is that right? A nurse named Pretty and a mom named Good.

Two people have been killed so far. Yes, sir.

Democrats have said they will not support any more funding for the Department of Homeland Security unless it imposes new limits on federal immigration agents. Incidentally, the deadline for those talks is Friday. We move to business news next. After the bell, Ford said it's expecting profit to jump this year after the company was saddled with a surprise tariff bill at the end of last year.

CFO Sherry House told reporters an unexpected change in tariff provisions cost Ford about $900 million in savings it expected last year. But looking ahead, Stephanie Valdez-Stritty, the director of industry insights at Cox Automotive, says Ford is in good shape. I think they're going to be well positioned. They're going to recover from the Nivelles fire. They have a lot of hybrids in place.

278.96 - 294.199 Unknown

And if you look at 2025 sales, they were up 6%. Ford expects profit will rise, even as it contends with ongoing turmoil tied to tariffs and its money-losing EV business. In New York, Charlie Pellett, Bloomberg Radio.

Paramount's guidance has enhanced its hostile takeover offer for Warner Brothers Discovery. In a statement, Paramount said it will cover the termination fee that Warner will have to pay Netflix if it were to end that already agreed upon deal. And Paramount will also backstop a Warner Brothers debt financing. Here is Bloomberg analyst Geeta Raghunathan.

315.998 - 337.483 Geeta Raghunathan

I think this is just Paramount exhausting all of its options before, you know, they actually raise the bid. But in my mind, what this signals is, yes, they did stop short of actually raising that $30 bid. But I do think that this signals that they are willing to kind of go back to the table and probably raise that bid as, you know, kind of this thing keeps dragging on.

337.463 - 351.997 Doug Krisner

That is Bloomberg analyst Gita Raghunath. And by the way, Warner Brothers also said it will review the amended tender offer and make recommendations to shareholders afterward. And that is news when you want it. With Bloomberg News Now, I'm Doug Krisner, and this is Bloomberg.
