That obviously hasn't gone down well in the US and Trump has tried to match it in kind.

And as Bomberg's Patrick Sykes, an agreement between the two sides that would restore shipping to the strait is crucial to rebalancing the global oil market. Word of progress in talks and oil prices lower. Now the Wall Street Journal is reporting that US forces fired on a Panama flagship this morning after it apparently attempted to break the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports. Oil prices were higher once again, with NYMEX screwed oil up a third of a percent at eighty-two dollars forty cents a barrel, Brent at eighty-seven dollars eighty two cents. Meanwhile, Iranian backed Houthi rebels renewed attacks today on government controlled areas in Yemen as the violence threatened to reignite civil war and raised fears over new threats to regional shipping lanes.
