U.S. Central Command says it targeted surveillance systems, air defense sites, and communications networks. President Trump told Fox News he could order more strikes today if Iran does not sign a deal. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth agrees. As President Trump said, they've been tap, tap, tapping. You can see when someone's trying to tap, tap, tap on a deal. Instead, they're going to have tap, tap, tap bombs dropping on key facilities in Iran from the United States of America. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth spoke at CENTCOM headquarters in Florida. Iran has retaliated, firing on U.S.
bases in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan. The Strait of Hormuz remains a flashpoint as we hear from Bloomberg's Abir Abu Omar in Dubai.
Some ships and tankers from Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, including Qatar, have been slipping through with their LNG and crude shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. Our own reporting from our energy teams suggests that ships are not only blocking their transmitters, but actually going fully dark, shutting down their lights to go at nighttime.
Bloomberg's Abir Abu Omar reporting in this morning, the U.S. military says it used missile fire to disable a tanker that was trying to break its blockade on Iranian ports. The U.S. says commercial ships do continue to move through the strait, and that has led to a new take on inflation from President Trump. That's after the latest Consumer Price Index showed price pressures hit a more than three-year high last month.
