citizen since authorities in Caracas began freeing detainees, and it's part of an effort to meet Washington's demands following the capture of Nicolas Maduro. President Trump says he's cutting off federal funding to sanctuary cities at the end of the month. His administration has given 90-day notices to states like California that bill the federal government. Here is Trump.

85.351 - 106.262 Donald Trump

Starting February 1st, we're not making any payments to sanctuary cities or states having sanctuary cities because they do everything possible to protect criminals at the expense of American citizens. And it breeds fraud and crime and all of the other problems that come. So we're not making any payment to anybody that supports sanctuary cities.

106.242 - 123.728 Doug Krisner

We go to Minnesota next, where six federal prosecutors have resigned over how the Justice Department is handling the investigation of the fatal shooting of Renee Good. Now, this will include two top investigators of the scandal involving alleged public benefits fraud in Minnesota.

123.708 - 143.708 Doug Krisner

At the same time today, the Department of Justice said there is no basis for a criminal civil rights investigation into the shooting death of Good by an immigration agent. Now, an FBI probe of Good's death is ongoing. As President Trump attempts to address problems of affordability, he attacked the way banks make money from credit cards.

And Trump recently demanded that credit card lenders cap interest rates at 10 percent for a year. Today, Trump called on lawmakers to support legislation known as the Credit Card Competition Act. We are told banks are privately fuming over Trump's plans. Meantime, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said the Department of Justice's attacks on the Fed

One of our most trusted and loyal allies in NATO saying that the future of this alliance that has kept us safe and secure and prosperous for 80 years, that is a staggering prospect. In New York, Governor Kathy Hochul gave her State of the State address today, and she put forward several proposals to address the elevated cost of living. They include streamlining affordable housing development, as well as expanding free childcare programs, and addressing both insurance and utility cost.

281.608 - 298.613 Kathy Hochul

Washington Republicans are waging an all-out war on the middle class, driving up costs, leaving states to pick up the pieces. So this year, while Washington takes a machete to our safety net, I'm doubling down on the fight for a more affordable New York.

298.634 - 323.66 Doug Krisner

Hochul's agenda also includes plans to expand the state's nuclear energy program, to regulate AI, and to allow self-driving cars outside of New York City. Claudette Colvin died today. Back in 1955, she was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama. And that moment helped to spark the modern civil rights movement. Claudette Colvin was 86.

324.422 - 326.565 Doug Krisner

We have more from Bloomberg's Charlie Pellett.

326.545 - 351.338 Charlie Pellett

She is sometimes referred to as the forgotten teen who started the civil rights movement. Colvin was arrested months before Rosa Parks gained international fame before refusing to give up her seat on a segregated bus. A bus driver called police on March 2, 1955, to complain that two black girls were sitting near two white girls in violation of segregation laws.

351.318 - 363.629 Charlie Pellett

A police report at the time said one of the black girls moved toward the rear when asked, but Colvin refused and was arrested. She was 15 at the time. In New York, Charlie Pellett, Bloomberg Radio.
