Celaena will compete as Dorian's sponsored competitor in a competition to become the king's champion, if she wins she must serve the King of Adarlan for a set period of time and then her name will be cleared and she will be granted her freedom. Celaena agrees and begins the journey to the Glass Castle where she tries to interact with the stoic and disciplined Captain of the Royal Guard, Chaol Westfall.
