Chapter 1: What happened in the Sunday night game?
We'll start with the Sunday night game. Yes, it was sort of a snooze fest, if you will. I'm not sure how many people saw the end. If you went to bed early, you missed the one touchdown on the night.

And that was Tom McCarthy with the call. Westwood won right here on the fan. 16-3 the final score as the Patriots dispose of the Chargers and advance. That was May's one-touchdown pass on the night. Threw for 268 yards. Here he was postgame. A win is a win is a win.
I didn't throw very well tonight. No need to be better. But we did what we had to do, and that's what it takes in the playoffs. I'm just proud of this team. That was fun, man. That was fun to get one at home and look forward to being back here next week.
Chapter 2: How did Drake Maye perform against the Chargers?
He accounted for over 320 yards. He ran the ball for 66 yards, threw for 268 yards. I mean, he was their offense last night. I mean, listen, they got a good running game. It's hard to run against the Chargers. Chargers are really good defensively. And then that touchdown pass was beautiful. I thought he actually played okay.
I didn't think he played great just simply because of who he's playing against. But, man, he played better than Justin Herbert did. Well, yeah, and that's the thing that's going to come out of this is that Justin Herbert can't win playoff games and what's going to happen with him in the future and everything else.
They're so beat up on the offensive line, and they had no answer for the Patriots blitz at all in the second half. No answer. I can't believe that Jim Harbaugh's team couldn't adjust offensively.
It was ugly, very ugly. Herbert, 19 of 31, 159, sacked six times, hit 11 times on the night. Mike Vrabel says our defense outstanding. Here I believe he's referencing Milton Williams who gave him the fat lip or the bloody lip on the sideline. We talked to him about being willing to spill some blood out there and that the big dogs come out in January.
And I think Milt took that to heart in the way that he played the game and the way he finished the game. And he came over and got me pretty good. But that's what happens. That's what happens. Here was Herbert. So where does your confidence stand in terms of going forward now and winning these games?
Yeah, I don't know. I haven't figured it out yet.
Hasn't happened, so we'll have to reevaluate and see what happens. And so the Chargers season is over. The Patriots advance. Also on Sunday, you had the Niners and the Eagles, the middle game of three. And Philadelphia's year comes to an end.
They send Jennings wide to the right. In the slot right is Robinson. Motion man is born to the left. Shotgun. Purdy takes the snap. Looking. Purdy steps up. Purdy delivers. End zone. Caught. Touchdown. McCaffrey.
49ers go in front. And that was Ian Eagle. Westwood won on the fan. They would go in front and they would win the game 23-19. Purdy threw for 262. Couple of touchdowns. That one to McCaffrey.

Chapter 3: What were the challenges faced by Justin Herbert and the Chargers?

I mean, the second half of these games, they have been non-existent. There were five games this year where A.J. Brown did not have a reception in the second half. Also had three drops yesterday. It's crazy. Where are they getting their quarterback from, though? I mean, that's really the question. Well, I don't know. That would be, obviously, Nick Sirianni would come up with something.
Yeah, if he's there, he's another guy. Or I should say Howie Roseman more than Nick Sirianni. Yeah, I mean, it's going to be one of those. Those three all coming back, meaning Sirianni, Jalen Hurts, or A.J. Brown, I think is an impossibility. One of them has to go somewhere else, at least one of them. You had the dust up on the sidelines.
Sirianni asked what happened with him and Brown.
Yeah, you know, I was trying to get him off the field, you know, because we were about to punt, and that was really it. So I love A.J. I think he knows how I feel about him.

Chapter 4: How did the 49ers and Eagles game unfold?
It's a Buffalo touchdown, and the Bills lead 26-24. The push for six.

I mean, he made a great play right there, and the ball having to float right to him. And so the Bills, I don't want to say get away with one because they play, but with their kicker, it seemed like overtime at the very least was almost a given, and instead the defense makes a play.
And this is why if you're Buffalo, you've got to think about how you won about what you just did. You know, so Buffalo knew that, I believe Buffalo knew that Jacksonville was going to let them score on first and goal with a minute five to go.
But if Buffalo doesn't score there and just kind of like takes a knee, falls forward about, you know, a half an inch or whatever, then they would have three shots at it because they had timeouts and they could call timeouts if they wanted to. Um, but then at that point, Jacksonville can't let them score. They have to stop them. So if you score in first down, they let you score.
And I don't know, it was just a very unique situation that, you know, it happens from time to time and, and Jacksonville did the right thing. And Buffalo said, you know what, we're going to score and put it on our defense. So.
And they made a play. Here was, I heard you reference it before, this was the female. I don't think she's actually a Jaguars reporter as much as she's just a Jacksonville reporter. She was with Liam Cohen, who was upset, obviously, after their season ended after the game.

Chapter 5: What are the implications for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles moving forward?
Really? Would you not agree? Yeah, I got a lot of very angry DMs from Chicago. I'm sure you did. Very nasty, calling me all sorts of curse words. Did you DM anyone back? No. Go paint your quarterback's fingernails. Ha ha ha! I was just so annoyed at just everyone just curses now for no reason. That's a big thing now. It's just a lack of. Well, it's a big thing on one side of the political spectrum. That's all they did to show like their manliness, their puffness. That's so they tend to yell and scream and curse a lot.
Jerry said it the best. There shouldn't be everything filmed. Like, this was supposed to be what was happening for the Bears in that locker room. You've been in a million situations like this. I can imagine what Joe Sip was saying about East Islip. Of course. I mean, it's just... Because when it gets put out there, now it's a huge thing. Now the Packers are never going to forget this.
I effing hate those guys and eff the Packers, which is great because on one hand, I do love the fact that these guys actually care. I mean, how many times have we said it doesn't feel like the athletes care as much as the fans? Well, Ben Johnson and the Bears seem to care, but not everything needs to be out there on X. This reminds me of Sam Weish and Jerry Glanville back in the day.
Where people would say, man, where are these rivalries? Where are these coaches that hate each other? Well, there you go. Here we are. And now we're all sitting in judgment of it.
And this started at his introductory press conference. Can't wait to be Matt LaFleur twice a year. Well, he got him twice in a few weeks in Chicago in stunning fashion. So you got Steelers, Texans tonight, this weekend, Broncos, Bills, Niners, Seattle. Those games will be Saturday, Sunday, Bears and Rams, and the Patriots play the winner of tonight's game between Pittsburgh and Houston.
Just quickly, your Knicks got Josh Hart back. Looked really good. Beat the Blazers 123-114. Hart had 18. He had all five starters and double figures. Jalen Brunson, 26 points. and eight assists in that game. So the Knicks now 25-14 on the season. The Nets lost to the Grizzlies 103-98. Brooklyn plays in Dallas tonight.
Rutgers a late win in overtime over Northwestern 77-75, and the Devils blew a 3-2 lead, wind up losing to the Jets 4-3. Tanner Pearson with the go-ahead goal in the third. New Jersey and Minnesota tonight, and the Rangers, who didn't have a great weekend, they will host the Kraken tonight.
