We talk a lot about the issues that Al has with whimsy and having to get up in all hours of the night, even on the weekends where he's got to take her out at 2 a.m. and in the wintertime. And I always think about it now, and I think about the wind and the cold off the ocean, and now this potential snowstorm is happening and taking her out. And then I found out something.
This morning that he also has to do, which is he has to now carry her down the steps. So just picture.
Chapter 2: How is the winter ice storm affecting the city?
Just picture Al Dukes at 1.30 in the morning grabbing Whimsy from her undercarriage. Oh, boy. And bringing her down the steps of his condo outside to negative 7 degree feels like temperatures for her to walk around to go and pee. I mean, that right there, you want to talk about dedication.
He gets a lot of crap for not loving, well, he loves his dog, for saying that he wants to get rid of the dog or it was a mistake. That right there is dedication, everybody.
Yeah, I mean, I only weigh 155, and she's 65 pounds. And I have very thin legs, and I'm walking, plus osteoporosis probably. Yeah. And walking her down, so I'm just waiting for one of these days where we're just going to both go tumbling.
tumbling down al you know what that is though al that is dedication and that is that is pure love i am in the process of building something i i bought a uh like a a very heavy duty plastic crate from uh costco i'm going to glue furniture sliders on the bottom i'm going to put her in the crate and slowly slide her down the stairs This is my plan. I haven't attempted this yet.
Oh, my goodness. It's actually an ingenious plan if it works. And if she wants to be in there. Correct. She might freak out and want to jump out of there. You know one of those electrical chairs that attach to the banister that go up and down? You should get one of those things. Very expensive, though.

Yeah, I could start taking it.
Like, you could take the chair and you could put her on your lap and then you could go down the chair. I mean, that would be perfect for you.

You're going to be doing all of it. Yes. Probably, yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, when we have this 20 inches of snow that you're getting down by Long Branch, apparently.

Well, we'll see. It's a little bit early. It's a little bit early to really claim it, but all the weather people, including the guys that I trust over there, Island Wide Weather, they're all over this thing. Is it European model? It's GFS and European.

The GFS and the European are now saying there's at least going to be some moderate snow. Here's the weather headline of the day. Potentially catastrophic winter storm threatens over 30 states. And it prompts winter storm watches for millions. Yeah.
I mean, and I think that more people are concerned about the south where the ice storm could happen. And that is the biggest disaster of all time. There's nothing like riding on the Sudden State Parkway or the Hutch. Or the merit, you know, in a little bit of ice.
Chapter 6: What are the implications of the upcoming winter storm?
Well, not only that, the driving's one thing. But if you really get that significant ice, then the power lines start coming down and all that. It's just a nightmare. Now, what do you have? I got a generator. Okay. I got a Kohler generator. There you go. Yeah. You're going to thank me. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to, you know, Snowmageddon here. I'm not really looking forward to that.
I'm not saying that you're looking forward to it. We're going to have to stay here Sunday night, you think? Depends on the timing, right? Hotel spot. You know what? They'll probably put cots back there in the empty sales floor before they give us all. They'll just buy a bunch of air mattresses. And then we'll blow them up and we'll all sleep back there.
