Chapter 1: What changes are expected in the Giants' future under John Harbaugh?

So do we think this is the fateful or the day that Giant fans are hoping for where the organization now takes a complete U-turn and goes in the right direction? The culture is going to be set early on. Remember I told you that the Baltimore Ravens, and their preseason record wasn't by accident. Sure. This guy wants to win.
He's uber competitive, just like his brother is, just like all these coaches in the NFL are. And he has one way of doing things. I'm not saying that he is anything but, you know, players love playing for him. He's a really solid players coach. He's a guy that knows how to communicate with his players, gets the best out of his players. But it all starts in training camp.
It all starts with preseason games and winning those games and expecting to win those games.
Yeah, I mean, and I expect the Giants to have a winning record next year. I expect them to be right there in the playoff conversation. They were close. I mean, you go back and think about it. how many last-second field goals, how many blown leads that they had this year, how close they were to winning seven or eight games.
And, of course, they didn't, and they lost, and they had another miserable season. But John Harbaugh coming in, another year of Jackson Dart, fifth overall pick. team getting healthy again with all the injuries that they had. Yeah, I expect them to have a winning season right away. I mean, and that's what the NFL can provide is a worst to first. You can do it quickly.
I don't know how many times we talked about the Bears and the Patriots this year, and the Patriots have an opportunity to go to the Super Bowl, for crying out loud. Now, I'm not saying the Giants go to the Super Bowl next year, but they got a hell of a lot better chance now than they ever did.
Well, I will say that they're going to have another tough schedule next year based on the teams that they play. We don't know when they're going to play them, but we do know that at home, along with their division, they have the Cardinals, Browns, Jaguars, Saints, 49ers, and Titans. That's their home schedule, including their division teams.
I mean, there's a lot. The Cardinals, the Browns, the Titans, and the Saints all were terrible this past year. Yeah, but again, they're saying the same thing that the Giant fans say. No, I know, but I'm saying it's not all that. It's not like monster team after monster team.

Chapter 2: How will the Giants navigate their tough schedule next year?
If anybody wants to take a team over the top or could take a team over the top, why not Bill Belichick? But he would not have Josh McDaniels with him.
You know, they also said that Rex Ryan was the perfect guy to get them over the top when he was available.
That is true.
I mean, I just think that, you know, I could see Brian Dable there. I don't know if they're going to want an offensive guy, which Brian is. Knows the family very close to the Pagoulas. Knows how things work up there. Very close to Brandon Bean. So I don't ā you know, that would make sense to me, and I would think Josh would be happy with that.
But the way some of the players reacted to the firing yesterday, you know, it tells me a lot about Sean McDermott, the coach. I mean, there are guys that were just completely caught off guard of this whole thing. Obviously, they're not paying attention to, like, we're paying attention and the noise that's out there, whether it be ā so think about this.
There were three stories that were written prior to the playoffs starting, or probably like four or five weeks prior to the playoffs starting, that guys were hanging on by a thread and they would have to win. Tomlin, Harbaugh, and McDermott. All of them gone. All of them gone, fairly or unfairly.
Well, Dable and McDaniel, too, by the way, were two guys.
Yeah, but those guys were expected, but the other guys were with winning programs and had won. In the case of John Harbaugh, for God's sake, he won a Super Bowl.
Yeah, of course, and obviously Mike Tomlin had as well back in the day. It's been a number of years, of course, but he did.

Chapter 3: What coaching changes are happening in the NFL?
Has Josh Allen been a very successful quarterback within the system that he is running? Sure, yeah. Yeah, but why would you bring somebody in that may change the system in a certain way? Like, why wouldn't you try to keep the system that they are running?
And I know Joe Brady's a little bit different, you know, than Brian Dable, and they're all, you know, they had guys there, but they all kind of run the same thing because they want him to be comfortable and they want him to be the player that he has turned into. So I don't think you're bringing in, like, a Mike McCarthy in a West Coast-style offense.
Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out. So that means that they're either going to promote Joe Brady or they're going to hire Brian Dable. Or maybe one of the other guys that comes in that's a head coach or has head coaching experience keeps Joe Brady. I'm not sure. It's just that I feel like the person that fits the criteria of what the Bills are looking for, it's a very small list.
Well, I mean... Unless they go with a first-time head coach, which would be nuts to me.
I just can't see it. Again, the quarterback is really important in this equation. And just like it would be for Patrick Mahomes if Andy Reid decided to leave or if the Hunt family decided to fire Andy Reid, you want to find a guy that... your quarterback who is deserving of his opinion in this particular situation because of everything that he's given your franchise.
And quite frankly, the reason that they got a new stadium in Buffalo was because of Sean McDermott and Josh Allen together being as successful as they have been up in Western New York. And that's how you get stadiums. Why do you think Chicago is going to get a new stadium now? Why? Because, well, we got Ben Johnson, we got Caleb Williams, we got one of the most exciting teams in the NFL.
Now there's political will. Why do you think Kansas City's getting a new stadium?
Well, yeah. Andy Reid, Patrick Holmes, Super Bowl champions.
That's exactly right. And, you know, it all goes part and parcel. That's why I would not want to screw up my quarterback up in Buffalo any which way. I would really want to sit down with him and want his opinion on this. You know where your boy Justin Herbert was yesterday? Oh, let's see. My boy Justin Herbert was probably... You're asking me, so I got to think that he was here in New York?

We didn't want to break your heart. Here was the thing. So... They brought me on at the end of December as a consultant to help them launch the league.

Galli's. So all the people there, all the fans are going crazy, going crazy. Then all of a sudden, your star player in Morocco... complains to the official that he got thrown to the ground, which he did. The official didn't see it, didn't call it, and somehow your star player, what's his name? Well, we have Hakimi. Who's the guy that kicked the free kick? That's Ibrahim. Ibrahim.
So Ibrahim basically complained to the official that he got thrown to the ground, so he convinced the official to go look at the video review. The VAR. So the guy goes look at the bar, the video review, comes out and says, yeah, there was a penalty there, so we're going to give this guy, Ibrahim, a free kick.
Yeah.
And this guy baby kicked. Now, by the way, after all of this, when he was given the free kick, the Senegal team took, the coach took the team off the field.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
For 17 minutes. 17 minutes. They were down in the locker room. Yeah, yeah. Now all the fans are going crazy. All hell's breaking loose. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And this is in front of, what, 80,000 people? Yeah, 80,000, and the press was there, the press of Morocco. Yeah, President of Morocco, yes. It was just crazy.
All right, so this guy, Ibrahim, now gets the free kick.

Chapter 8: How does team culture affect player success in the NFL?
And, you know, there was some more reporting about how on Saturday, as late as Saturday morning, the John Harbaugh camp and his agent were talking to the Tennessee Titans, which, I mean, I don't... What is that about? I mean, why would you put that out there now? But none of it matters because he is here and Rob Sala's down in Tennessee.
You know, if this were ā there are a couple coaches out there that I wouldn't trust. And, you know, I'm not going to mention their names. Josh McDaniels. I'm not going to mention any of their names. But I will say this, that John Harbaugh is not one of those coaches.
John Harbaugh, you know, 18 years down in Baltimore creating that culture along with Steve Bishotti and Ray Lewis and Ed Reed and, you know, Joe Flacco at one point, then Lamar Jackson and everything else. You know, when he goes to league meetings and they go to league meetings, they are very highly thought of. They're respected. And everybody in the league knows each other, of course.
That's where they find all these coaches. And one of the things that John Harbaugh did, I'm sure, is spoke to Brian Dayball. And Brian Dayball gave a glowing review of coaching here in New York and coaching for the Mara and Tish families. So...
There was no way going down the road as far as they went that something as little as, hey, I need to report to the owner was going to off track this thing. There was no way because right now, as we sit here, John Harbaugh has the power in the building. He is the number one alpha guy. He's the guy.
Yeah, now you don't have a problem with, I don't have a problem with, because it's John Harbaugh, the fact that he gets to report to ownership as well as Joe Shane, right? I mean, this is a unique situation.
It's a unique situation, and Joe Shane has got to show John Harbaugh that he can get him the players that he wants, and those players are going to turn into something. And quite frankly, I think John Mara's health probably had a little bit more to do with Joe Shane staying here than anything else.
and he wanted to have somebody in there, at least that he has built a relationship with, to try to find the right guy. And then I do think that Chris Mayer getting down to Baltimore immediately and having lunch at John's house, I think that was a big part of this whole thing too. I don't want to underestimate that because Chris has kind of been an in-and-out guy. You know what I mean?
And I don't think that's going to be the case anymore. I think Chris is probably going to be even more involved than he's ever been. I don't know if people out there like that or they don't like it. But now somebody's got to put the big boy pants on as John is going through what he's going through and lead this franchise.
