Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
It's the Boomer and Geo podcast from WFAN. All right, Boomer and Geo coming to you live from the Build Forward Tough studio on the fan and CBS Sports Network. If you want to join the show, 888-808-1019. And that's the Red Pocket Mobile fan line that's brought to you by your new ultimate cell carrier, Red Pocket Mobile. All right, wild card weekend almost in the books.
You got the Steelers and the Texans tonight. I was 3-2 over the weekend. You were 2-3, and Jerry was 0-5. 0-5, Jerry Recco, who was nipping at your heels there in the regular season, took a big nosedive here in the postseason.
I was feeling really good about everything that was going on until really the Jaguars' loss is what threw me off because I had won two previously, and I thought the Jaguars were going to win. I thought I was going to have a 5-0 weekend there, and then the Chargers were just awful.
There was a huge stat going into wildcard weekend since the NFL expanded to 14 teams in the playoffs. Okay. Okay. And the huge stat was I think the higher-seeded team was something to the effect of like 22-9. All right.
All right.
With the exception of the three seed. The three seeds were five and five. Oh.

Chapter 2: What happened during the 49ers' Wild Card game in Philly?
And both three seeds, in this case, the Eagles and the Jaguars, did lose. So those three seeds now fall to five and seven. Interesting. In the super wild card round.
Wow. I wonder if that... Is that a fluke or just...
Oh, it's just, it's a weird, one of those weird deals, man.
Really?
Don't be the three seed, I guess, huh? Or be the six seed.
Yeah, or be the sixth seed. That is true. So now you've got the Bills and the Broncos. You're going to have the 49ers and the Seahawks. Two big matchups. We're going to see what happens. You know, the Steelers can still play a home game in the divisional round if they end up beating the Houston Texans.
No, no. The winner of this game is going to New England. New England's the number two seed.
That's right.

Chapter 3: How did the 49ers perform against the Eagles?
They have to go to New England now. Yeah.
Now, if they beat New England. Let's say if they win tonight.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I would say if either team, but whatever team wins tonight, wins in New England.
Yeah.
And if Buffalo beats the Broncos, then either the Steelers or the Texans would host the AFC Championship game. There we go.
There. That's what I was looking for. I got your back, Biggs. I know what you're trying to say. Yeah, that's what it was. Could still host the championship game, believe it or not. Yes. That could still happen, but we don't think that the Steelers are moving on. I don't, no.
So we have a, this will be funny, it'll be like a watch party tonight in my house where all of us will be asleep by halftime, probably.
It was rough staying up watching that game last night.

Chapter 4: What are the implications of the 49ers' victory for their playoff journey?
I called my nephew. We always watch the show going in in the mornings. And I was like, he called it.
There it is. Yeah. And, Pat, I want to take credit for that. However, I cannot. It was a caller who first tipped us off to that whole thing. Yeah. And then we had repeated it after that. But just to be fair, because I would love to be the one that said I came up with that, but a caller had said that, and we said, wow, that was absolutely a great call.
And then we repeated it, and then here you go. That's what's happening. That's what's going on. You can see it from a mile away, man. Why is Bad Bunny performing on a halftime show? He doesn't have any songs in English. Oh, it's the Apple halftime show. And they've got their new ear pods that translate on the fly. Huh. Is that a coincidence? I don't think so. And that's what you got. So, yeah.
And by the way, I don't even care who the halftime show is going to be this Super Bowl. Nothing will ever top Snoop Dogg Netflix in Minnesota. No one's going to ever top that halftime show. It was sitting right in front of you. I mean, my goodness. He found a way to make that entertaining for every single generation.
Chapter 5: What challenges do the 49ers face against the Seahawks?
You know what he's done? He's made himself relevant to every single generation.
I think he sat down and he was like, all right. We need kids, K-pop demon hunters. We need black people, me. We need white people, Laney Wilson. We need old people, Andrea Bocelli. That's what I think he did. And he said, this is everybody that's watching the game. Now, is Bad Bunny going to do any of this? And he said, we love our Hispanic audience, but they're getting Bad Bunny.
So we'll leave them out of this one. They get the full Super Bowl, but everything else, here we are. Does Bad Bunny, do you think at all? Is that young Gary Delabate in the background there? Look at that. That looks like young Baba Booey in like 1987. That is unbelievable. And it's the Golden Globes from last night. Do you think Bad Bunny what?
I would imagine he's going to have a few other people out there with him. Or is it just going to be all him?
I don't know. Everybody's got the cameos now, right? Yeah. So I'm sure that he will. I'm sure there'll be some sort of political statement that happens during the thing as well. Oh, there'll be some anti-ice thing. There'll be something. They have to talk about it the next day and everything else.

Chapter 6: How do the Rams' playoff success impact the NFC West?
The Golden Globes were last night, I guess. You watch that? Hell no. I know Nikki Glaser hosts. She's pretty funny. You like Nikki Glaser. I do. I do. She likes to rip the celebrities a little bit. I didn't watch the Golden Globes. Not Ricky Gervais, though. No. That guy's all time. I saw him talking about how... He's like upset that he's made so much money in his career for being funny.
And he feels guilt because a nurse doesn't make as much as he does. I mean, is it a bit? It's not a bit.
It's not a bit?
No, it's not a bit. He's like, I've just been very lucky, but I feel guilty that...
He entertains people, makes people laugh. People pay to see him do that.
Yeah, and speaking of the Super Bowl, I lost my NFC Super Bowl team on Wild Card Weekend. Yes, you did. Eagles out. I did pick the 49ers to cover, but I thought that the Eagles would win by three. That did not happen, but at least I won that pick. But, yeah, so now I got the Broncos. See if they can do it.

Chapter 7: What makes the NFC West the most dangerous division in football?
And you still have yours. The Rams are on the ropes, but they end up beating the Panthers. And, of course, you've got the Houston Texans who play tonight.
It's like I say, it doesn't really matter how you win. Just move on. Just win and move on. Well, the playoffs, yeah, for sure. That's it. People can sit here and say, well, they didn't do this, they didn't do that. It doesn't matter. I mean, eventually, I do believe it will be Seattle and the Rams meeting in the NFC Championship game.
I mean, the Niners, man. The Niners ever get embarrassed by Seattle? The way they look.
There's so many injuries. I'm telling you. So what? I have nothing but great respect for the 49ers and the job that Kyle Shanahan has done. So I don't want to be sitting here thinking that I'm disrespecting a coach or disrespecting a team. You know how the teams use that as motivation? Oh, nobody gave us a chance. Yeah. I'm not giving them a chance.
I mean, Seattle beat the living crap out of their offense two weeks ago. Yeah, now watch what Kyle Shanahan, you know, he'll figure it out. So Mike McDaniel's got, Mike McDaniel, Mike McDonald, the head coach of, who is a defensive head coach, has got something. He's got something there in defense. I think they have the best scoring defense in the NFL. That's a pretty impressive deal.
And they also have this Jackson Smith and Jigba.

Chapter 8: What key player performances should we watch for in the divisional round?
They got a two-headed running attack in Seattle. They got Clint Kubiak, just like his old man, just like Mike Shanahan. Run, run, run, run, run, bootleg. Run, run, run, play action pass, throw it to Smith and Jigba. I mean, they're a really talented team, Seattle.
Yeah, they certainly are. That's why they're the one seed. But, I mean, seven and a half points.
And by the way, three teams from the NFC West are in the divisional round.
Yeah. And the NFC North had every single team with a winning record. However, two of them played each other on wildcard weekend, but they only have one left. Bears and Rams, to me, is going to be a great one. That's going to be a really good one.
Again, I'm not a big fan of the Bears' defense. I think they're okay. They were great in the second half. They were. They were. And depending on what the weather is going to look like, La Nina, they've got a big, low kind of La Nina weather pattern.
The La Nina weather pattern?
You haven't heard about this?
No, I mean, you probably said it.
I have brought it up to you many times.
