Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Did you see the Chief Kindness Officer named yesterday? That's what Al opened with. Yeah, I saw it. I was going to save it, but I have to break glass in case of emergency right now. So, yeah, this guy named Dar Mann got named the Chief Kindness Officer for Super Bowl week. And Dar Mann has got some stuff in his past that was not great. Okay. You know, defrauding.
He was charged with 13 felony counts of fraud for allegedly defrauding a city beautification program while operating his real estate company Man Edge Properties. Well, I mean, if you think about what's going on right now, this fits perfectly.
Chapter 2: What is the role of the Chief Kindness Officer in the NFL?
I know.
I mean, the conviction was later expunged. Okay. But it's a part of his story. So, yeah, so Chief Kindness Officer, which I'm not sure exactly why they felt like they needed the Chief Kindness Officer for Super Bowl week, but they did. I mean, it's in California. Maybe that's why. Chief Kindness Officer? Yeah. But why?
Chapter 3: What controversies surround Dar Mann's appointment?
Just because you feel like that's like a very... What word am I looking for?
I mean, is he responsible for Dave Portnoy? No. No, he's not. No. Because Dave Portnoy, is he allowed back into the Super Bowl? He is. He is allowed back. He is. Let's see. And by the way, Dave Portnoy was also the one that amplified the fact that John Gruden got this job offer from the Jets, and then John Gruden yesterday came out and basically said, I never got a job offer from the Jets.
Yeah, which is interesting because he did it in a way that was like no one from the Jets reached out. And I was like, all right, but was that something that... Did Rich Cimini reach out? Like, I don't know. Like, was he being...
Say he should have made John Gruden the chief kindness officer. That would have been something.
Yeah, like, for example, maybe someone from, like, the 33rd team had reached out and gauged his interest or something, and he was able to say no one from the Jets reached out.
Well, remember that Rick Spielman is part of the Jets as a consultant. Yeah. So I think he's sittingā somewhere, I don't know, around Darren Muji to help him navigate the GM responsibilities. Yeah. And maybe the guy that's seen from a very close-up view that the coaches needed to be changed. You know, nobody's really talking about him. He's there. He's involved.
I know, but it doesn't seem like he's involved with the coaches. It just seems like... Aaron Glenn is involved with Darren Moochie and running the franchise. Yeah, sure. How many people... Yeah, it's going to be even more now.
I mean, if you think about it, with all the other coaches that are going to have to come with whoever is the offensive coordinator, if we're assuming it's Frank, he's going to have his own guys, and then he's going to start paying those guys, and then Frank's going to command a salary that's more so than maybe your average offensive coordinator.
I mean, if you're the 33rd team, and this is what you... basically told the Jets to do in hiring Aaron Glenn. And then you have one of the guys actually sitting in there. Right. And nobody's really even talking about him. I mean, like, what is his role? What is he doing? Is he the one that is advising Darren Moochie? Is he the one that is advising Aaron Glenn?

Chapter 4: How did John Gruden respond to rumors about a job offer from the Jets?
You want to talk to John? Yeah, we could ask him straight up. Well, you have his number, right? Yeah. Yeah, I mean, that would be great to have him on. Now, he went on in Tampa where he's a legend.
He's a legend here, too.
He's a legend everywhere in the eyes of many football fans. But you know what I mean. I mean, he won a Super Bowl down there for that franchise. And he lives down there. And, yeah, so that's a soft landing spot for him. Hey, John, if you want your voice to be heard, here's the place to do it. Certainly. Well, yeah, they'll shoot him a text. He's got to be around.
He's either in Chicago or New York. He's in one of those two places. And I guess Chicago with an hour behind. But still, yeah, I'd love to talk to John.
Chapter 5: What implications does Gruden's statement have for his future in the NFL?
That's the first time I heard him do something like a radio interview on a sports talk show since he's done Barstool. I've only seen him basically just be doing barstool content. But Evan, yesterday, before the Gruden thing was debunked by John Gruden, said that this was a clear indication that if Aaron Glenn fails this year, that they're going to hire John Gruden next year.
And I would love if that were the case. I was screaming about John Gruden before Aaron Glenn got hired. I mean, I was the first one to even say his name or bring him up. for the Jets, so I would love it, but I just, I do not see it.
He still has this lawsuit wide open against the entire NFL and Roger Goodell. Exactly. I mean, so I just, I, again, it's like the Bill Belichick situation. You know, I don't see him ever coming back to the NFL, but I also know that he hasn't retired. He's coaching. John Gruden may never be able to get back in the NFL.
That's why that report that somebody reached out didn't, you know, for me, it didn't move the needle because I know he's not coming back. And he certainly wouldn't come back to be an assistant on Aaron Glenn's staff. And, you know, and it's basically like what Dave Portnoy said about it. You know, he said, you know, it was, I'm trying to think what he said.
The most insulting job offer of all time. Yeah, exactly. What, in fact, there was no job offer. Well, so could you tell me, like, Rick Spielman could reach out to his agent? Yeah. Could he have this plausible deniability that nobody called me directly?
Yes, I think absolutely. Like, I have not heard from anybody on the Jets. It's very easily a way for someone as sharp as John Gruden to make this thing go away. But I'm sure there's got to be some sort of truth to it because there's so many back-channel things. I mean, you tell me about all the... the incestuous nature of all of these things. Everybody knows everybody.
It's like, hey, by the way, I'm not going to call him, but maybe you can call him type of thing.
Gruden appeared on that Florida station, that Tampa station, and matter-of-factly shut down rumors about him and the Jets. There's a lot of reports that we're not going to get into. Okay, we're not going to get into him. Well, who said that? Gruden said that? As you know, there are a lot of stupid rumors out there, Gruden said. Some of these reports are ridiculous.
Let's just say there was never anything from the Jets, and I wish them well in their search for a new offensive coordinator. That's his word. Yeah, right. There was nothing from the Jets. Okay. So here we are now. We have to try to piece all this together.
