Chapter 1: Who is Todd Monken and what role will he play with the Giants?
John Harbaugh Day, 2026, as Harbaugh and the Giants inch closer to getting that contract signed, and he's going to be the next head coach of the New York Giants. Got Mike Garofalo and Ian Rappaport. They're part of the insiders. saying that Todd Munkin most likely will be the offensive coordinator for John Harbaugh here in New York with Jackson Dart.
Obviously, those guys worked together the last number of years in Baltimore and had a ton of success with Lamar Jackson when he was healthy. And this is, of course, someone that he trusts.
They had some great years together down there.
Yeah, so I think that's a really good one.
And he's actually won with backup quarterbacks every now and again. He has. But, you know, the offense is not going to be exactly what they're running down in Baltimore, I don't think. I mean, they'll have Jackson be a part of some of this RPO stuff. But Todd Munkin has a very good reputation. And, you know, it didn't go well this year.
And, you know, remember, we heard him on a podcast after this whole thing went down.

Chapter 2: How did Todd Monken's previous experience with Lamar Jackson influence his hiring?
Yeah, he had that scratchy voice, and he was ripping everybody, and it was unbelievable. Yeah.
So I think it's ā again, John's going to hire the guys that are going to be ā that he's going to feel comfortable with, that this is what they all do, and people that he trusts, people that are going to have his back and going to do exactly what he wants them to do and also understand how to run practice.
Yeah.
Yeah, and I think that John Harbaugh and Todd Munkin are really smart football guys, and they're not going to force some sort of system that they just like down Jackson Dart's throat. They're going to use the things that he's good at and build a system around that. So there's very, very encouraging stuff there.
Now, you're thinking, all right, he's bringing the offensive coordinator from Baltimore. Would he bring the defensive coordinator from Baltimore? The last two years, the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens is Zach Orr. He's a former player. He spent three years playing for the Baltimore Ravens, and he's been the D coordinator the last two years.
So I don't know if he's going to bring Zach Orr. They had some issues last year defensively. They blew some games.

Chapter 3: What changes can we expect in the Giants' offensive strategy?
I'm going to say that he's going to go in a different direction with the D coordinator. Imagine if it was Rex Ryan. Imagine if he brought Rex Ryan back. As the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants? You want him in that building?
That'd be crazy. I do. Wouldn't you? I don't know what their relationship is. I really don't.
They work together.
I gotta believe it's good. How could it not be? By the way, just so you know... Forget this year for one second. You know, Lamar was hurt this year. The previous two years, they won 25 games together. Yep. Todd Munkin and Lamar Jackson. Lamar had thrown 65 touchdown passes over those two years. 41 touchdowns in 2024. I mean, he was up and down the field, 4,100 yards passing.
Obviously, the running is a part of Lamar's game. I mean, he was a multiple dual-thread quarterback, and Todd Munkin was calling the plays. Yeah. So that bodes well. You can't just go by recency bias about what just happened this year.
No, I mean, he was hurt a lot of the year, and obviously their relationship had crumbled with John Harbaugh and Lamar Jackson. Yeah, I mean, you think about Jackson Dart right now, it's got to be absolutely thrilled. I mean, to be Jackson Dart this morning, he's thinking, I got an opportunity to be the king of this town. I really do. The Giants quarterback who brings them back, man.
I know, but winning football games makes you the king of the town. So, I mean, he really has an opportunity right now. Everything is lined up for him. It's perfect. This is the opposite of being drafted by a bad organization who doesn't know what the hell is going on.
Right, he's not going to go through four head coaches.
Yeah.

Chapter 4: Who might be the defensive coordinator for the Giants?
Good morning, guys. I'm just curious. Any chance of Wink Martindale coming back? He didn't coach at Baltimore.
I don't know. I mean, obviously they did work together. Wink loved being a Giants coordinator, just didn't love Brian Dable. I don't know. I also don't know what Joe Shane and Wink Martindale ā what their relationship was. I don't know if ā remember, it ended really bad. I don't know if John Mara or Chris Mara, the tissues, won't wink back. It was ugly at the end there.
He stormed out of the building and everything else, and now if they believe that was all Brian Dable's fault, maybe they'd welcome him back, but it ended ugly here.
But it's happened before. Coaches come back to places, and, you know, it's ā I don't know. Would it shock me if that happened? No, it wouldn't, but ā You know, John is, again, he probably went in there. And I don't think there is any criteria that the Giants said you can't bring in somebody. You know what I mean?
They probably told him, whoever you want to bring in here is your coaching staff. That's part of it. And we're going to support that, and we're going to support that financially. And, you know, if it includes Wink Martindale, bring Wink back.
