Chapter 1: Why is Trevor Bauer joining the Long Island Ducks?
So I saw Trevor Bowers headed to the Long Island Ducks. Many a former major leaguer who were trying to get back into the major leagues for one reason or another has used the Long Island Ducks because obviously it's close to New York. There's two teams in New York. So this is not the first time someone has tried this, obviously. Trevor Bauer has pitched overseas.
We know that the one case against him was all bullcrap as it was found out in all the text messages that he was being set up. I know there were two other instances where accusers came out against Trevor Bauer. Major League Baseball and the Dodgers and everybody seemed to really excommunicate him from the Major Leagues. And I don't know if he's going to get... another opportunity.
But if a team, let's say, pitches his ass off and convinces a team to bring him in when there's some sort of major injury situation or whatever, and they go to Major League Baseball, Major League Baseball, in my opinion, can't be saying that he can't be a part of the team.
I mean, that would be ridiculous if they stopped that because he served his suspension and lost a lot of money in the process, and he's going to try to get back. And if someone says... We need a pitcher, we need an arm, we need a warm body, and Trevor Bauer can still do it. I would hope that he would be allowed to do it at this point.
So he was suspended, I believe, like 194 games. Yeah. And he also pitched in Japan and Mexico. Yeah. And he's been trying to get back ever since. And for some reason, nobody wants to touch him. Some of the allegations and some of the back and forth, it's not pretty. It's ugly. Yeah.

Chapter 2: What controversies led to Trevor Bauer's suspension?
But no criminal charges were ever filed against him.
Much like the Deshaun Watson case and the Justin Tucker case. Yes.
And this was more of a... And for some reason, Justin Tucker can't get back in either.
As of right now, he's not on the team.
So, I mean, he's trying, and I guess the Long Island Ducks figured that he's far enough away from that and probably feel like, look, we think that he can help us win. That's the only reason why I would think that he would. Sign a contract there.
Yeah, I wonder if he would be any sort of draw at all. Like, I mean, we all know his name. He's obviously got, you know, personality. And before all of this went down with him, he was a... A popular player, both hated and liked at the same time because he would always run his mouth. But I wonder if people will go buy tickets because Trevor Bauer is pitching.
He's scheduled to be their opening day pitcher on April 21st.
Well, of course, you've got to make him the opening day pitcher. I mean, who else has he got out there? Dimitri? Who else is playing for them? Yeah, I have no idea. Yeah, I mean, so they're going to have to give him a little bit of fanfare there.
I think he actually won a championship in Mexico.

Chapter 3: How has Trevor Bauer's career trajectory changed after his suspension?
I know he was in South Korea at one point. He was in Japan. Okay, so it was Japan. Japan and Mexico.
Yeah, I mean, you know, he does have a... I mean, he did pitch quite a while in Major League Baseball. And it's just, there's something about this story that never really totally added up in terms of him not being able to get back onto the Major League Baseball field. Yeah. And he was so adamant in denying everything. And then, of course, no criminal charges ever.
I don't think he ever paid anybody off either.
I don't think so. I mean, so I remember talking about this. Years back, and there was the one major case where all the information came out in discovery where the accuser was found to have set him up and said, I need him to do this. They had all the text messages. Yes. It was clear that that's what she was trying to do. But there was also other accusations.
I remember someone actually from Major League Baseball had reached out and said there was actually two other cases that he was involved in that didn't have the fanfare of this particular one. He can't just ignore those as well. So, yeah.
I would think that if he has any modicum of success here with the Ducks, and he looks like he still has some velocity and there's some movement on his pitches, I would think, because everybody is pitching starved, and maybe they are far enough away from all of this controversy that maybe somebody would give him a shot.
He also was not a well-liked guy when he was... Before all of this. I mean, and that probably has something to do with it.
You know, I interviewed him right before all of this hit. Really?

Chapter 4: What are the implications of Bauer's return to baseball?
Literally, like two weeks before it came out that, you know, he had these allegations made against him.
Yeah, he came in and did the show with BT and Sal one day, didn't he? He was in studio. I think a couple years ago and was talking about all of this with them.
I think a lot of this obviously has to do with the PR concerns that any team would have, but I also would think As you said earlier, he wasn't liked by a lot of people.
Yeah.
That there could be chemistry issues if, in fact, that were the case.
Well, probably this many years removed, it's like, you know, is it worth it at all? I mean, it's really the conversation.
Well, if he has some stuff left and you need a starting pitcher, I don't see why it wouldn't be worth it. And the other thing, too, is he served a suspension. His reputation was in tatters, and he lost a ton of money, and he was never arrested for anything.
Right. I mean, there is that side of it, and many other people who have been in that situation have gotten other opportunities in sports.
Well, listen, Deshaun Watson got all his money, except for one. I guess he had an 11-game suspension and lost like $5 million.

Chapter 5: How do past allegations affect Bauer's current opportunities?
Well, how about Tyreek Hill? I mean, that's I mean, isn't that a comp? Well, I mean, Trevor Bauer never kicked a pregnant woman. Well, I'm saying as far as like domestic violence stuff that he was never he was I think he was arrested for that. I'm talking about the other allegations and stuff about breaking the kid's arm.
There was other things about, you know, with his his now ex-wife, physical things he was accused of. And, like, obviously the kick in the pregnant woman thing when he was in college is horrendous. And that was ā and then he got drafted after that. But there's been a bunch of things as he's been a pro and he's still gotten jobs.
So there are text messages that some woman's trying to set you up.
But I think there are two others. You know, that's the other thing. Oh, okay. Well. I just ā that would ā but obviously the one is ā He's been cleared of. He actually won a settlement, a $310,000 settlement. Yeah, from the one, yes. From the one. But I don't think the other accusations have ever turned into an arrest or any sort of criminal involvement either, though. So, I mean...
You know, I know people say it's a whataboutism, but really, when you look at it, there's been comps out there of guys who have gotten other opportunities. Deshaun Watson, Tyreek Hill.
I think there's been worse out there.
Yeah, for sure.
I wouldn't even say that they're comps. I would say that there are worse situations out there where other guys have been able to come back from.
You know, he's in his mid-30s now. Hasn't pitched in Major League Baseball for a while. I mean, can Major League Baseball, after a guy serves a suspension, basically tell teams, don't sign this guy?

Chapter 6: What factors contribute to Bauer's potential success with the Ducks?
I'm thinking about architecture right now.
Oh, okay. Because you said it was futuristic. It could have been a valley in nature.
So if they built UBS to look like... It belonged next to Belmont. Why would they make Belmont not look like it belongs next to UBS? If that's the case.
Good point.
I may be wrong.
Good point. Yeah, I'll have to take a look. I have not noticed at all what's going on over there. Right. I mean, I went to a couple Islander games this year. I couldn't really tell what was happening over there.
And then the other big thing around here, obviously, is can Amtrak... convince MSG to move. I know. You've been talking about this for years.

Chapter 7: How is Trevor Bauer perceived by fans and teams now?
I have been. And I'm telling you that I can see it right now that President Trump's all in on this. He wants Trump Penn Station. I guarantee you. I'm telling you that's what he wants. And obviously they control the purse strings. And whether it be the Gateway Tunnel or whether it be this, Trump Penn Station in the middle of New York. New Yorkers would love that, right?
You think Jim Dolan like Tiger Woods when he gets off the phone with Trump? He's like, yeah, she's talking to the president. No big deal.
I mean, obviously, Jim Dorn and the guard will have to get something out of it. NBD. No big deal. I mean, think about the redevelopment plan for that area. If it's even possible.
Yeah.
