She had spent 20 years as a vegetarian, 7 years as a raw vegan, 7 years on a low carb diet, 8 years on keto/locavore diets, and the last 4 years as a carnivore. She was diagnosed with type-one diabetes at age 16 in 1971. She started her health research in 1976, after becoming convinced that all health conditions could be healed naturally, which was the reason for her trying so many different diets. She has three grown children and six grandchildren, and unfortunately, her husband of 42 years died in 2021 of colon cancer. She had collaborated with him, posing for hundreds of figure paintings for 36 years and worked as his assistant in teaching oil painting and as his videographer and producer of his oil painting on-line courses, as well as traveling to assist in teaching painting workshops. She is now a still-life painter, and health researcher and diabetes and blood-sugar coach.
