Strapping on your angel wings to support other women, with investor Deepali Nangia

Send us a textThis week’s guest is Deepali Nangia, winner of the 2021 UK BAA Angel Investor award. She is the co-founder of Alma Angels, a venture partner in Speedinvest, a venture capital fund; and an angel investor in Atomico Angel. With just 1% of venture funding going to businesses founded by female teams Deepali reveals why she invests in female-led businesses. Lou and Deepali discussed how she was working in the city, reaching senior level for 12 years, and what that environment like for her as an asian woman and often ‘the only woman in the room’ We talked about how she was passed over for promotion – ie demoted to the ‘Mummy track” at a city firm.
