Good morning, thanks for having me. Nikita, you were raped by Conor McGregor in twenty eighteen, as determined by a jury in a High Court civil case. That finding was upheld by the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. And you've written a very powerful book. It's called Not the Perfect Victim. Like I knew you'd suffered. And then I read the book and I think people have no idea How much you suffered for how long? How are you doing now?
I'm okay, yeah. I am o I'm not gonna say I'm absolutely perfect, you know, I still live with the trauma of what happened to me throughout the years, you know. Um I'm very lucky I have two beautiful girls now. I've a tr uh three month old Alba and I have a fifteen year old Freya. So Congratulations. Yeah, they keep me going, so I'm happy. But um again I do live with the trauma of what happened to me. So

Absolutely. Like Nikita before that night had so much confidence, you know, like she loved her body, she loved dressing up, how she looked and after that night I lost a big huge part of my life, you know, it was just I have to kind of learn how to love the new Nikita now and I'm not quite there yet, but I know I will get there, you know. look it's It's it's quite sad, you know. Um you do lose a huge part of yourself when something so traumatic happens to you after being like raped or sexually assaulted. Like, you know, it takes a lot. away from you and a part of your life, you know?
So tell me a bit about Nikita before you you grew up in Fatima Mansions, what was that like?
I did, yeah. Uh like we grew up in Fatima from I was born up until the age of twelve. Um Fatima was lovely, like you know, at the time it like it lovely working strong families come from Fatima mansions and had a nor a normal childhood. I was the only child. It was always just me and my mum. Um then we got a house in Drimley, Dublin Twelve, and we moved there.
You have your granny's scarf with you. It's been with you through my granny's scar through a lot. Yeah. Your granny was very important to you.
Very important. She was the most strongest woman I've ever known. You know, she sold flowers down on Meat Street and hail, rain and snow. So she was really strong and she's I know she's given me so much strength throughout the years, you know, to get through this.
Okay. Um, when you move to Drumna then Did you know Conor McGregor from around the place growing up?

Obviously not straight away, you know. It would have been in my late teens, I would have heard of Conor McGregor, you know. Um we would have known of each other, we wouldn't have known each other personally, you know, that way, but we would have known each other and we would have kind of hung around in the same circle of friends.
Yeah, yeah. And listen, uh the hairdressing you knew from the get go really you wanted to be a hairdresser? Straight away. Like
the minute I was a kid, you know, I used to play with my dolls, do their hairs and I just fell in love with hairdressing, you know, and I started um hairdressing when I was like fourteen, like like really early early teens. So Yeah.
And you loved it.
It was my passion, yeah, I loved it.
Okay. So then December twenty eighteen. Working as a hairdresser. Yeah. You had a partner, Steve.
Yeah.
Freya was seven at that point, your daughter. Um tell me about the work Christmas party then. That kind of changed. Yeah.
Like it was a normal like Saturday, you know, it was um It was just Christmas and we were like out the door, really, really busy and we had a Christmas party that night.
